Xinyan is a 4-star Pyro character who wields a Claymore in combat. She is a rock ‘n’ roll musician who is growing in popularity in Liyue despite the genre being underrated in the region.
While Xinyan can provide shields and deal Physical DMG, she is often at the bottom of tier lists for her viability in battle. Xinyan’s Pyro application is not worth investing in, so you should focus on building her as a Physical character.

Xinyan abilities in Genshin Impact
miHoYoNormal Attack: Dance on Fire
- Normal Attack: Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes.
- Charged Attack: Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous spinning attacks against all nearby enemies. At the end of the sequence, perform a more powerful slash.
- Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground, damaging enemies along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill: Sweeping Fervor
Xinyan brandishes her instrument, dealing Pyro DMG on nearby enemies, forming a shield made out of her audience’s passion. The shield’s DMG Absorption scales based on Xinyan’s DEF and on the number of enemies hit.
- Hitting 0-1 enemies grants Shield Level 1: Ad Lib.
- Hitting 2 enemies grants Shield Level 2: Lead-In.
- Hitting 3 or more enemies grants Shield Level 3: Rave, which will also deal intermittent Pyro DMG to nearby enemies.
The shield has the following special properties:
- When unleashed, it infuses Xinyan with Pyro.
- It has 250% DMG Absorption effectiveness against Pyro DMG.
Elemental Burst: Riff Revolution
Strumming rapidly, Xinyan launches nearby enemies and deals Physical DMG to them, hyping up the crowd. The sheer intensity of the atmosphere will cause explosions that deal Pyro DMG to nearby enemies.
Xinyan Constellations in Genshin Impact
- Level One – Fatal Acceleration: Upon scoring a CRIT hit, increases ATK SPD of Xinyan’s Normal and Charged Attacks by 12% for 5s. Can only occur once every 5s.
- Level Two – Impromptu Opening: Riff Revolution Physical DMG has its Crit rate increased by 100% and will form a shield at Shield Level 3: Rave when cast.
- Level Three – Double-Stop: Increases the Level of Sweeping Fervor by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
- Level Four – Wildfire Rhythm: Sweeping Fervor’s swing DMG decrease opponents Physical RES by 15% for 12s.
- Level Five – Screamin’ for an Encore: Increases the Level of Riff Revolution by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
- Level Six – Rockin’ in a Flaming World: Decrease the stamina consumption of Xinyan Charged Attacks by 30%. Additionally, Xinyan Charged Attack gain an ATK bonus equal to 50% of her DEF.
Best Xinyan Artifacts in Genshin Impact
The best Artifact combination to choose for Xinyan would be the 2-piece Pale Flame alongside the 2-piece Bloodstained Chivalry sets. When combined, both 2-piece bonuses will increase Xinyan’s Physical DMG by 25%.
If you don’t want to build a Xinyan focused on Physical DMG, we recommend using the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set if you want to maximize the potential of her Elemental Burst.

Best Xinyan weapons
The best-in-slot weapon for Xinyan is the 5-star Claymore Redthorn Stonethresher. Also known as Arataki Itto’s signature, this weapon will increase Xinyan’s DEF by 28%, and her Normal and Charged Attack DMG will be based on 40% of her DEF.
Another 5-star option is the Skyward Pride, which increases all DMG by 8%, in addition to the creation of a vacuum blade to deal 80% of ATK as DMG to enemies.
If you want to save a 5-star weapon for someone else, we also suggest the 4-star Serpent Spine, which can be obtained as a Battle Pass Reward.

Best Xinyan team comp
HoYoverseIn terms of where Xinyan could possibly fit, we recommend using her alongside Eula, Raiden Shogun, and Bennett. With this composition, Xinyan will be able to buff Eula’s Physical DMG by creating shields. Xinyan can also decrease an enemy’s resistance to Physical attacks by 15% with her fourth Constellation.
By using Eula and Raiden, you can trigger the Superconduct Elemental Reaction. Lastly, Bennett will cause Pyro Resonance with Xinyan, in addition to increasing the team’s ATK by 25% through his Elemental Burst.
If you don’t have Raiden Shogun, you can swap her out with Beidou to create continuous Electro DMG with her Elemental Burst.
