Prince Noctis’ ride is returning to Final Fantasy XIV for a limited time, giving you another shot at driving around Eorzea in a royal vehicle. Here’s how to unlock the Regalia Type-G in Final Fantasy XIV.

Final Fantasy XIV has no shortage of exotic mounts for Warriors of Light to ride around on, but in Final Fantasy XV, there was just the Regalia. This black car was used to ferry Noctis and his party members around the world, helping to establish the game’s road trip vibe.

The Regalia received some upgrades through unlockable quests and post-launch patches. These included the Regalia-D, which turned it into an off-road vehicle, and the Regalia-F, allowing it to turn into a flying vehicle, in the same vein as the classic Final Fantasy airships.

The Final Fantasy XV crossover event is coming back to Final Fantasy XIV, giving fans the chance to unlock gear from that game. This includes the Regalia Type-G, which can be driven by the Warrior of Light and their companions.

How to get the Regalia Type-G mount in Final Fantasy XIV

The Regalia Type-G is only available as part of the “A Nocturne for Heroes” collaboration event. The next time this event will run from Wednesday, 28 February, 2024 at 8:00 (GMT) & 19:00 (AEDT) to Wednesday, 13 March, 2024 at 14:59 (GMT) / 14 March at 1:59 (AEDT).

You don’t actually need to do any of Noctis’ quests to unlock the Regalia Type-G, as it can be purchased from the Ironworks Vendor in the Gold Saucer for 200,000 Manderville Gold Saucer Points. The event only lasts a few weeks, so you won’t have much time to gather the needed currency.

You can win MGP by completing minigames, like the Mini and Jumbo Cactpot and Triple Triad. There’s also the Fashion Report, GATEs, and the Gold Saucer Challenge Log.

It’s possible to win lots of MGP by completing the weekly Wondrous Tails quests, which Khloe Aliapoh gives in Idyllshire. Completing rows of objectives can earn you MGP Platinum Cards worth 50,000 MGP each.

Once unlocked, the Regalia Type-G can be used as a mount for your Warrior of Light, and you can bring along three companions, allowing the four of you to drive and fly around like Noctis’ crew from Final Fantasy XIV.
