Black Swan is by far one of the most popular characters in Honkai Star Rail. Her design and presence is the story is something that has completely taken over fans. Additionally, she is the first featured 5-star unit in Penacony which has further increased the hype around her.

However, one question that fans have in mind is whether she is worth the Stellar Jades. There are quite a few DoT characters in the game and it is important to ask how Black Swan stacks up against them.

Yes, Black Swan is worth pulling for in Honkai Star Rail. However, you must consider a few things before you dump all your Star Rail Special Passes and Stellar Jades. Black Swan is a character who shines the most when you have other powerful Nihility units, especially if you have Kafka in your account.

While Guinaifen and Sampo are good, Kafka in the current state and Acheron in the future will bring the most out of Black Swan. This is because Black Swan’s entire kit revolves around applying Arcana stacks which in turn applies DoT on the enemy.

You will never see Black Swan deal over 100,000 damage with her Ultimate, since that particular ability simply increases the potency of Arcana stacks and increases duration. The idea with Black Swan is to use your basic attacks and Skill ability to apply Arcana stacks and reduce the enemy’s defense.

You will need Kafka here to further apply Arcana stacks on the enemy and thereby maximize the DoT damage. You can use Eidolon 4 Sampo here as well, but Kafka helps in raising those Arcana stacks effortlessly which means she is a must have for Black Swan. Additionally, the enemy will continue to take Wind DoT damage on account of the Arcana stacks which can be lethal.

Overall, Black Swan is a very powerful unit. However, if you are running her solo without any other Nihility unit, you will not be able to make the most out of her. However, if you are planning to pull for Acheron in the future or get Kafka in her rerun, then Black Swan will be an amazing support and an investment for the future.
