Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has finally received its first major update – v28.10. While several hotfixes and content additions were made during Winterfest 2023, the latest update brings loads of new additions to the game.

Some of those additions included Super Level styles for Battle Pass skins, Solid Snake cosmetic quests, and two new utility items named Cardboard Box and EMP Stealth Camo. While the Cardboard Box is a rebranded name for the classic Creepin’ Cardboard item in Fortnite, EMP Stealth Camo is fairly new.

According to Epic, the EMP Stealth Camo lets players become a master of stealth just like Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid. If you’re wondering how to get your hands on this mythic item, we’ve got you covered below.

Where to find EMP Stealth Camo item in Fortnite

The new EMP Stealth Camo mythic item can easily be found across the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 island as floor loot, in chests, and combat caches. While the item is fairly new, it has a low spawn rate in the game, but can be spotted across Society Mansions or Underground Bases.

However, if you’re looking to grab the item early on, you can locate the Solid Snake NPC far north of Lavish Lair and purchase it from him by spending 100 Gold Bars.

How to use EMP Stealth Camo

Once you have the EMP Stealth Camo in your inventory during a Fortnite Battle Royale match, simply equip the item and click the Fire button. The item will then emit a green light around you, rendering you invisible for a short period of time.

EMP Stealth Camo makes you invisible for a while in the game.

The image above shows how the device functions when the camo effect is turning off versus when it is on and you’re invisible to enemies from afar. However, the enemies will still be able to hear your footsteps and see markers on their visual sound effects HUD.

As soon as you switch to another weapon in the match, the invisible effect will be turned off and the item will go under a 20-second cooldown until you can use it again. There’s a special Solid Snake quest that requires you to use the item thrice.

Upon completing the quest you’ll unlock the Metal Gear MK. II Back Bling from Solid Snake Battle Pass rewards. So make sure to grab an EMP Stealth Camo the next time you want to infiltrate a Society Mansion in the style of Solid Snake in Fortnite.
