Does Hogwarts Legacy have multiplayer or co-op?

Hogwarts Legacy has plenty of exciting features for players to enjoy, but is there multiplayer or co-op functionality?
Harry Potter fans can finally live out their Hogwarts fantasy thanks to Avalanche Studios’ latest game, Hogwarts Legacy. Throughout the game, you can explore iconic locations, meet familiar faces, and learn plenty of powerful spells.
Many players may be wondering if the game can be experienced with friends and what its multiplayer capabilities are. With that in mind, here’s everything we know about Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer or co-op features.
Does Hogwarts Legacy have co-op and multiplayer?
No, Hogwarts Legacy does not support multiplayer co-op capabilities. Hogwarts Legacy is purely a single-player experience and only features PvE content. Players hoping to team up with friends or battle it out in multiplayer wand-based duels will obviously be disappointed, but there are two areas that can make your adventure a little less lonely.
First up, is the Dark Arts Battle Arena. As the name suggests, this fearsome battleground is a place where witches and wizards can test their magical might against some tough AI opponents. You’ll need to utilize the most powerful spells here in order to survive the trials ahead.

Lastly, Hogwarts Legacy also features AI companions like Sebastion Sallow, Natsai Onai, and Poppy Sweeting who can be encountered on quests. While these two features don’t make up for the lack of co-op or multiplayer features, they will help to make your Hogwarts Legacy playthrough more rewarding.

Multiplayer mod in the works
While it’s unlikely developer Avalanche Software has plans for an official co-op mode in Hogwarts Legacy, PC players may just be in luck. The well-known modding group Together Team recently confirmed that they are currently working to add multiplayer to the game through a project called HogWarp.
Currently, HogWarp is still in early access and is only available to patrons of The Together Team’s Patreon, but the early tests the team showcased seem promising.
Unfortunately, this mod would only be available to PC players, so console players will have to stick with Hogwarts Legacy as a single-player experience. Those interested in the HogWarp mod should keep an eye on The Together Team’s YouTube channel for more progress updates.
