It might have been 15 years since the iconic comedy film first graced our screens, but Step Brothers proves it still has a hold on fans – this time with the help of Snoop Dogg.

Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, Step Brothers follows Brennan and Dale, two middle-aged men who still live with their parents, and are forced to stay under the same roof together when Brennan’s mother marries Dale’s father.

Ferrell is famed for his comedy chops, taking on key roles in Elf and Anchorman, though most recently seen as the CEO of Mattel in Barbie. Reilly has also teamed up with Ferrell for Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

As if no time has passed at all, the Step Brothers duo recently took to the stage to perform their iconic track from the movie with the help of Hip Hop legend Snoop Dogg.

Step Brothers cast performs Boats ‘N Hoes with Snoop Dogg

As part of Snoop Dogg’s surprise birthday tribute on October 23, 2023, Step Brothers stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly took to the stage during the Best Night of Your Life benefit concert.

In time for the star’s 52nd birthday, the trio performed Boats ‘N Hoes, originally featured in Step Brothers. The music video features puns about sailing and sex, with the song itself being referenced in popular culture during parties and water-based vacations.

“Yesterday was a very special day — it was Mr. Snoop Dogg’s birthday — now let’s sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the greatest rapper in the world,” Reilly can be heard saying in one of Snoop Dogg’s social media posts.

The two began to serenade Dogg before launching into a rendition of Boats ‘N Hoes. Together, the trio then went on to sing Snoop’s 1994 hit Gin and Juice.

“These are legends doing their thing. Nice from them,” one X/Twitter user posted in reply to the concert video footage, while another added “This is priceless. I would love to see a Step Brothers 2 someday.”

“Legends…. Glad to see them together…. luckiest people who saw them live in that country concert,” a third responded.

As of this year, the potential for a sequel to Step Brothers 2 is still touch and go.

“We had some great ideas over the years. I hope I don’t age out of the possibility. It might be really sad if we’re like 60 years old and doing it,” Reilly told IndieWire back in 2018.
