Minecraft’s 1.21 update has revealed yet another exciting feature — the Vault. So, what is the Vault for and how do you use it? Here’s everything you need to know.

The 1.21 update is looking extremely exciting for Minecraft players, bringing new mobs, blocks, and so much more to the popular game. However, just because we’ve already had Minecraft Live, it doesn’t mean Mojang is done announcing new features for the upcoming update.

One prime example is the Vault, a new block that’s soon to be arriving in Snapshots. So, what is the Vault, where can you find it, and how can you unlock it? Here’s everything you need to know about Minecraft’s latest block.

What is the Vault in Minecraft?

Essentially, the Vault block acts as a fix to those annoying moments when another player has stolen all the loot from the chests. It’s a chest that holds precious items, but can only be unlocked once per player, using a Vault Key.

When unlocked, that player will get access to their own loot, and then when another player unlocks the Vault, they’ll get their own loot too.

As revealed in Minecraft Monthly, the new Vault block will be arriving in Minecraft Snapshots soon, acting as a safe for precious items and a chest filled with loot when you first stumble across it.

Where can you find the Vault?

You’ll find the Vault block in the upcoming Trial Chambers, and they’ll be lootable from those locations.

However, you’ll need to get hold of a Vault key before gaining access to the block, and it only works once per person, so no need to hoard them all.
