Best Pals for Lumbering in Palworld

Palworld allows players to chop down trees which makes lumbering essential to gather wood for numerous key early- and mid-game upgrades. So, here are some of the best Pals you can use for lumbering.

One of the first things any Palworld player will need to do is cut down trees. It’s practically tradition in open-world survival games for this to be the case, with Wood always being an extremely valuable resource.

However, sooner or later, you’ll want to move away from gathering materials yourself and trusting your Pals with important jobs like Lumbering and Mining. However, not every Pal is equally good at this, and making sure that you are using the best possible Pals is a must to streamline the process.

As for which Pals you should be using, we’ve got you covered. These are the best Lumbering Pals in Palworld.

8. Grizzbolt

Grizzbolt from Palworld.
  • Element: Electric
  • Partner Skill: Yellow Tank
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv2, Generating Electricity Lv3, Transporting Lv3, Handiwork Lv2

Though it can be hard to catch, Grizzbolt having Lv3 Generating Electricity and Transporting makes it a well-rounded Pal with a unique skill set. This Pal isn’t necessarily suited to just Lumbering all day long but can be used to gather wood in any downtime when its electric powers aren’t needed.

7. Verdash

  • Element: Grass
  • Partner Skill: Grassland Speedster
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv2, Handiwork Lv3, Gathering Lv3, Planting Lv2, Transporting Lv2

Verdash is the ultimate jack-of-all-trades option, with the Grass-type Pal not only being one of Palworld’s best Pals for Lumbering but also having top-tier Handiwork and Gathering. In addition to that, it also has solid Planting and Transporting skills, ensuring that there isn’t a Base out there where Verdash can’t be of use.

6. Eikthyrdeer

  • Element: Neutral
  • Partner Skill: Guardian of the Forest
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv2

In complete contrast to Verdash, Eikthyrdeer and its Ground variant, Eikthyrdeer Terra, can only perform Lumbering tasks. While this may seem like a bad thing, it makes Eikthyrdeer extremely consistent and perfect for placing on a Logging Site easily, making it one of the best Lumbering Pals in Palworld.

5. Dinossom

  • Element: Grass/Dragon
  • Partner Skill: Fragrant Dragon
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv2, Planting Lv2

Effectively a direct upgrade to Eikthyrderr, Dinossom, and its Electric variant Dinossom Lux can not only cut trees quickly but will also contribute to planting crops. This combination works well to keep your Pals well-fed while ensuring plenty of wood is being collected.

4. Blazehowl

The Blazehowl Pal from Palworld.
  • Element: Fire
  • Partner Skill: Hellflame Lion
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv2, Kindling Lv3

Both Blazehowl and Blazehowl Noct are arguably the best Lumbering Pals in Palworld with a Lv2 stat. This is because they also have Lv3 Kindling, an extremely useful support skill for smelting Ore quickly, letting you access higher-tier gear and upgrades.

3. Warsect

Palworld Paldeck 34 Warsect
  • Element: Ground/Grass
  • Partner Skill: Hard Armor
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv3, Transporting Lv3, Handiwork Lv1, Planting Lv1

With it being the first Lv3 Lumbering Pal on this list, Warsect offers a sizable upgrade and is a fantastic option for gathering Wood. Its Lv3 Transporting is also extremely useful as it can transport the wood from one place to another faster than most other Pals.

Warsect can be encountered in the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary and the Sealed Realm of the Stalwart in Palworld.

2. Bushi

  • Element: Fire
  • Partner Skill: Brandish Blade
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv3, Transporting Lv2, Kindling Lv2, Handiwork Lv1, Gathering Lv1

Bushi shares a lot in common with Warsect but gains an edge thanks to its Lv2 Kindling. With how important Kindling is for processing Ore, you can never have too many Kindling Pals, and having one that also offers top-tier Lumbering skills is every Palworld player’s dream come true.

Bushi can be found on the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary island, which must be reached using a flying or swimming Pal.

1. Wumpo

An image of Wumpo from Palworld
  • Element: Ice
  • Partner Skill: Guardian of the Snowy Mountain
  • Work Suitability: Lumbering Lv3, Transporting Lv4, Handiwork Lv2, Cooling Lv2

Wumpo and its Grass-type variant, Wumpo Botan, are the best Lumbering Pals in Palworld, with them not only having Lv3 Lumbering but also Lv4 Transporting. This combination allows the Pal to transport the Wood and Fiber they gather. Even better, regular Wumpo gets Lv2 Cooling, an extremely unique Work Suitability skill that can be hard to fill effectively without using up extra slots.

Wumpo may spawn as an Alpha Boss at the end of the Sacred Mountain Cavern Dungeons. You can also possibly hatch the Pal from a Large Frozen Egg or search for one in the game’s Tundra region.
