Looking to bag yourself a Furfrou in Pokemon Go? Well, here’s how to do just that, along with whether you can be lucky enough to catch a Shiny.

Furfrou is an adorable Poodle-style Normal-type Pokemon that was introduced to the games back in Generation VI and has remained as one of the more popular additions – especially when it landed in Pokemon Go in 2023.

Now, one year later, Furfrou is holding the spotlight once again, with the Carnival of Love bringing its many forms back to players’ Pokedex. So, how do you get hold of one, and can you get a Shiny version? Here’s everything you need to know.

Currently, the only way to get hold of Furfrou is by catching it in the wild – although you’re in luck as its spawn is boosted as part of the Carnival of Love event.

As part of the event, you can unlock the heart form of Furfrou, so it’s worth grabbing as many as you can to get the Candy for this event exclusive.

Can Furfrou be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, you can catch a Shiny Furfrou in Pokemon Go, but if you do, it won’t be the heart form as that version is currently not available.

Whether the Shiny Heart-form of Furfrou becomes available later on, or even during the Carnival of Love event remains to be seen, but if it does, we’ll be sure to update this article – so check back soon for more information.

However, players can change their existing Furfrou into the Heart form as part of the Carnival of Love event, so if you have a Shiny Furfrou waiting in the wings, this would be a good time to change its style.
