Pokemon Go Darkrai can it be shiny?

Darkrai is one of the most feared and powerful Pokemon in the franchise, but how can it be acquired in Pokemon Go, and is its Shiny form also available?

There were few Mythical Pokemon more powerful in the competitive scene than Darkrai. This Gen 4 Pokemon absolutely dominated the battlefield with its Dark Void move, which could strike two opponents in Double Battles for a lot of damage, with a ridiculously high chance of inflicting Sleep.

Dakrai would eventually be nerfed, and even Dark Void’s power was curbed, stopping it from being used by another Pokemon, and preventing Smeargle from claiming its rightful place at the top of the competitive scene.

Despite its nerfs, Darkrai is still a terror on the battlefield and has a cool design. This means it’s in high demand, so Pokemon Go fans will have to work hard to acquire this lord of nightmares for their team.

How to get Darkrai in Pokemon Go

Darkrai can only be acquired in Pokemon Go via Raids. This befits its status as a Mythical Pokemon, as these are notoriously difficult to acquire in the mainline games.

Those looking for a Darkrai are in luck, as it will appear in 5-Star Raids from February 15, 2024, until February 20, 2024, and on February 19, 2024, it will be the protagonist of the Raid Hour, starting at 6:00 PM local time.

Darkrai has appeared in multiple Raids in the past, so even if you miss it this time around it won’t be long until it’s haunting Pokemon Go again.

Can Darkrai be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, Darkrai can be Shiny in Pokemon Go! As Darkrai often appears as part of special events, it tends to have a boosted Shiny rate. This means that those bold enough to defeat one have a much better chance of getting a Shiny Darkrai in Pokemon Go than in the mainline games.

That’s all you need to know about getting yourself a Darkrai and its Shiny version in Pokemon Go. For more game content, check out the rest of our guides below:
