Wherever you choose to do your gaming, Diablo 4 transforms your experience, connecting players across different systems. But does it mean you can join your friends on different platforms for a Diablo 4 crossplay, demon-slaying spree? Here’s a guide to D4’s cross-progression and more.

Diablo 4 has broken barriers in terms of sales as Blizzard targeted a more integrated experience across platforms – PCs, consoles, you name it. But the real question you may be wondering is can gamers be truly connected across these different landscapes, allowing for some epic cross-platform adventures?

Is Diablo 4 have crossplay?

The good news is that players on Microsoft platforms will be able to play together, but not PlayStation users.

During the game’s gameplay deep dive at the 2022 Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Blizzard explained that PC and Xbox players can slay demons together — or go head-to-head in PvP.

The odd one out, at least for now, is PlayStation. With Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard expected to close in 2023, we don’t know if that will preclude cross-play between Xbox, PC, and PlayStation.

During a 2019 interview with The Telegraph, Executive Producer Allen Adham spilled some gory details regarding the idea of crossplay.

“We’re very excited about crossplay,” Adham notes, continuing that “there are technical details and details to work through with the first parties, but it’s our goal to get to crossplay.” Lead Lighting Artist Sean Murphy also added that “we have nothing to announce with crossplay, but that is a topic that we are interested in.”

This was echoed at a 2021 Blizzcon interview, where Lead Systems Designer Joseph Piepiora response to Windows Central’s questions about crossplay and cross-progression was simply “emphatically yes.” Naturally, this has come to fruition of course.

Taking down a Prime Evil isn’t easy, so hopefully Diablo 4 will have cross-progression!

Does Diablo 4 have cross-progression?

Diablo 4 does feature cross-progression, and this was confirmed sometime back thanks to an official blog post following Diablo 4’s appearance during the Xbox & Bethesda Game Showcase 2022.

This means that you’ll be able to dive into the same campaign with the same character on every different platform.
