Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 introduces an all-new mechanic, Underworld Dash, allowing for quick escapes when in a bind. Here’s how to get and use it in the game.

Fortnite’s latest chapter goes all in on the Greek mythology theme, with new locales and AI inspired by the myths and legends of old.

One of the newest features introduced is Underworld Dash, a movement mechanic that can help get you out of a pickle in an instant. However, there are a few catches with the ability.

If you want to get your hands on the new Medallion, here’s everything you need to know about it in Chapter 5 Season 2.

How to get Underworld Dash in Fortnite

Taking down Cerberus is one way of gaining Underworld Dash.

Getting Underworld Dash is very simple. Head to any of the Underworld Locations that have green water, such as Grim Gate, and it’ll charge your charge with the ability to use Underworld Dash. You’ll know you’ll have it as your character will have three floating skulls surrounding them.

However, it’s important to note this is a temporary boon. Each use will take away one skull, and once all three are gone, you’ll need to submerge yourself back in the water to regain the effect.

Alternatively, if you’re feeling brave, you can challenge Cerberus in Grim Gate. Provided you are successful, the NPC will drop the Aspect of Agility Medallion, unlocking Underworld Dash for permanent use.

How to use Underworld Dash

Underworld Dash is a new movement mechanic bound to your jump button. Simply press the jump button twice (for example, the X button on PS5 twice), and your character will dash forward.

As mentioned, it’s only temporary. Each use will take away one skull, or if you don’t use it, it lasts about two minutes.

Bear in mind if opt to takedown Cerberus and pick up the Medallion, you’re marked for the entire lobby to find you. With the Medallion, this ability will charge with your stamina, meaning it can’t be spammed infinitely.
