Will a new Pokemon game come out in 2024?

The Pokemon Day 2024 livestream announced that Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket would arrive in 2024.

The TCG game will launch on mobile devices sometime in 2024, bringing virtual packs of trading cards to your phone.

In addition to TCG Pocket, Pokemon Day 2024 revealed that Pokemon Legends: Z-A would be released sometime in 2025. Due to the release date, it’s unclear if the next Legends game will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.

According to recent reports, the Switch 2 won’t hit the shelves until at least March 2025, much later than previously expected.

While 2023 saw the release of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC, both DLC and previous “third versions” of games are usually handed over to junior staff while the main team works on the next big release. Meanwhile, titles like Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were outsourced to different devs.

Considering the rushed quality of Scarlet & Violet, some players are hoping that Game Freak is taking more time crafting the Generation 10 games.
