Pokemon Go’s Carnival of Love is live, and there are plenty of Pokemon to catch. If you happen to complete the Collection Challenge, you’ll encounter a Roserade, so here’s its best moveset if you’re planning to add it to your main team.

There are many dual Grass/Poison-type Pokemon in Pokemon Go. However, Roserade happens to be one of the top ones that have this particular type combination, alongside fan-favorite Venusaur and Amoonguss.

Roserade is Gen 3’s Roselia’s evolution, but it was introduced to the franchise one Generation later with the Pokemon Pearl and Diamond games. But it wasn’t until 2018 that it made its first appearance in Pokemon Go. So, if you still don’t have one, now is your chance.

From February 13, 2024, until February 15, 2024, players will be able to catch plenty of Roselias as they will spawn constantly during the Carnival of Love event. More so, those who don’t wish to take the long road and evolve a Roselia into a Roserade can complete the Collection Challenge to receive XP, Stardust, and a direct encounter with Roserade.

Roserade general stats in Pokemon Go

This dual Grass/Poison-type Pokemon has an attack-based stat spread of 243 (ATK), 185 (DEF), and 155 (STAT), and can reach a max CP value of 2971 in Pokemon Go, which can be boosted by Sunny or Cloudy weather.

Due to its typing, Roserade is vulnerable to Flying, Fire, Psychic, and Ice-type moves, and can resist attacks from the Fighting, Water, Electric, Fairy, and Grass types.

Best moveset for Roserade

The best moveset available for Roserade in Pokemon Go consists of Magical Leaf as a Fast Move and Grass Knot as a Charged Move, with a solid 16.44 damage per second and 387.93 total damage output before it faints.

Even though Roserade is a dual-type Pokemon, unless you’re trying to exploit an enemy’s weakness to Poison, it’s better to stay with the best Grass-type moves available. Both Magical Leaf and Grass Knot are defensive moves that can benefit from the 20% extra damage thanks to the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB).

Is Roserade any good in Pokemon Go?

While Roserade is not the strong Pokemon it used to be, it’s still a good choice if you’re looking for a balanced Grass-type or need to counter a Fairy-type beast with Poison attacks. Nonetheless, taking it to the Battle Leagues is not a smart thing to do.

Roserade does reach its Charged Moves quickly and can pressure opponents to waste their shields, however, it has a very low bulk compared to the rest of the League champions and even though the dual typing can help, it’s not enough. It ends up being way too fragile in Great and Ultra League and it’s entirely useless in Master League combats.
