How to complete Happy Birthday quest in Genshin Impact

Looking to get hold of The Story is Over, But… Achievement? Or do you just want to complete the Happy Birthday quest in Genshin Impact? Well, here’s exactly how to do both.

There are so many things to do in Genshin Impact, from grabbing ingredients for delicious meals, battling, exploring, collecting, and of course, completing quests. In fact, completing some quests can be a surefire way to get you a few handy resources, or the all-important achievements many completionists are looking for.

One such quest is called Happy Birthday and brings players an achievement called The Story is Over, But… which can be pretty tricky to get hold of without guidance. So, here’s how to complete Happy Birthday in Genshin Impact to land you that achievement.

Complete a series of quests before unlocking

Before gaining access to Happy Birthday, you’ll need to complete a series of quests:

1. Wake Of Narcissus Act 2
2. Through the Looking Glass
3. Pursuit
4. Wish Fulfilling Treasure Hunt
5. Pursuit 2

Once you’ve completed those quests, you’ll be able to start Happy Birthday.

Teleport to the Court of Fontaine Region and wait

To begin the quest, you’ll need to teleport to the Court of Fontaine Region, specifically the northwestern Waypoint.

Once there, patience will have to take over, as you need to wait for two in-game days. Thankfully, that’s a little quicker than irl days, so you won’t have to wait too long.

Head to Earnshaw’s home

The next location you’ll need to head to is Earnshaw’s house which can be found northwest of the Court of Fontaine, hence why it was best to previously teleport there.

Once you arrive at Earnshaw’s house, the Happy Birthday quest will instantly trigger. You’ll be notified that Lanorie has been abducted by a Hilichurl and it’s your job to find and save her.

Find Lanorie

You’ll be able to find Lanorie just north of Earnshaw’s home in Mont Esus East. Simply head over there and engage in a conversation with the Caterpillar and Lanorie.

Once you’ve completed the Genshin Impact Happy Birthday quest, you’ll get The Story is Over, But… Achievement.
