When is the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event?

The Pokemon Luvdisc is visible in a tera Raid with the Fairy Tera-type

The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event runs from Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 4:00 PM PST, until Thursday, February 15, 2024, and 3:59 PM PST. During this time, Luvdisc will appear more frequently in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raid battles.

While Luvdisc isn’t a rare Pokemon, and neither is this a particularly tough Tera Raid, the extra rewards make this a great way for beginner players to add some extra items to their inventory. These are especially helpful for training up weaker Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid counters and type

During this event, Luvdisc will be appearing in 3-Star to 5-Star raids, meaning it can be fairly tough to beat, but nowhere near the 7-Star raids that normally occur with powerful Pokemon like Empoleon or Blaziken.

Luvdisc that appear as part of this event have the Fairy Tera-type, making them weak to Poison-type, and Steel-type. Pokemon that appear in Tera Raid events also normally have their Hidden Ability, so we expect Luvdisc’s build to look something like this:

PokemonPossible movesTypeTera-typeNatureAbilityRaid
Luvdisc New Pokemon Snap DexIce Beam, Rain Dance, Soak, Sweet Kiss, Draining Kiss, Charm, Tera Blast, WaterFairyRandomHydration3, 4, and 5-Star raids

So while Luvdisc certainly isn’t going to be as difficult as a Mewtwo raid, it’ll still pose a challenge for trainers just starting out and is a great entry for Tera Raid to let less experienced players cut their teeth on this fun battle system.

Whether you’re a fledgling player and want to add Luvdisc to your collection, or are a veteran trainer hoping to earn bags of nice rewards, here are some of the best counters for the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event:

Can Luvdisc be Shiny?

While nothing is confirmed, we expect the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event to be consistent with previous events. Non-legendary or event Pokemon such as Luvdisc are usually available in their Shiny form, however, basic odds are not increased.

So while it may be possible to encounter a Shiny Luvdisc in these Tera Raid battles, it’s not worth counting on it, as the odds are usually the same as in the overworld for regular encounters, so just over 1/4000.
