Pokemon Go has announced the Festival of Lights event, which includes the debut of Tadbuld and Bellibolt, new event bonuses, and much more. Here’s a breakdown of everything trainers need to know about this event.

With Pokemon Go’s Halloween-themed events starting to wind down, it seems Niantic is preparing for what’s to come in November 2023.

Along with the Dia de Muertos 2023 event, the developer has announced the Festival of Lights 2023 event will also be arriving in early November.

This event will bring with it two Pokemon from Generation 9, new Avatar cosmetics, Timed Research, and much more. So, let’s take a look at everything trainers can expect from the upcoming Festival of Lights 2023 event in Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go Festival of Lights 2023 event start & end date

According to the Pokemon Go blog, The Festival of Lights 2023 event will take place from Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10 AM to Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 8 PM local time.

That gives players just under a week to take advantage of the different bonuses tied to the event, so be sure to set some time aside.

Pokemon Go Festival of Lights 2023 Pokemon debuts

During the Festival of Lights 2023 event, trainers can look forward to two brand new Pokemon appearing in Pokemon Go:

  • Tadbulb
  • Bellibolt

Trainers who catch a Tadbulb in the wild will be able to evolve it into Bellibolt using 50 Tadbulb Candy.

On top of Tadbulb and Bellibolt’s debut, trainers will be able to find Shiny Morelull in Pokemon Go starting with this event.

Pokemon Go Festival of Lights 2023 Timed Research

The Festival of Lights 2023 event will offer an exclusive Timed Research for players to participate in, which will involve exploring and catching different Pokémon.

Upon completing the research tasks. trainers will be able to earn an event-exclusive shirt avatar item and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

Pokemon Go Festival of Lights 2023 PokeStop Showcases

The Festival of Lights 2023 event will offer brand new PokeStop Showcases, where trainers can submit Litwick and Tadbulb to fulfill certain criteria.

The Pokemon Go Festival of Lights 2023 event will come with various bonuses for players throughout its duration:

  • 2x Stardust for hatching Pokémon
  • 2x Candy for hatching Pokémon
  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last twice as long

Additionally, trainers located in India can look forward to a special Collection Challenge that awards Stardust, XP, and an encounter with Tadbulb. They can also earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon during the Festival of Lights 2023 event.
