Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced an adorable set of new Starters, including the Water-type Quaxly. The Duckling Pokemon grows into quite the dancer, evolving into Quaxwell and, eventually, the elegant Quaquaval.

Quaxly, like fellow Paldean starters Sprigatito and Fuecoco, is available in Pokemon Go. The trio were introduced to the mobile title during an August 2023 event that also added Lechonk.

Here’s what to know about catching Quaxly in Pokemon Go and if it can be Shiny.

Like most Pokemon, Quaxly can be encountered and caught in the wild. As a Water-type, it appears more frequently in the rain.

Right now, Quaxly is especially easy to find thanks to the Pokemon Go Horizons: The Series Celebration event, which runs from March 5, 2024, through March 11, 2024.

Additionally, Quaxly can be hatched from 5km Eggs.

No, Quaxly’s Shiny form is not currently available in Pokemon Go. This will likely change in the future, perhaps being introduced as part of a Community Day event down the line. For now, though, players will have to make do with the Quaxly line in their standard coloration.
