The Legendary Genie Enamorus is making its way into Pokemon Go thanks to Elite Raids, so learn exactly how to counter and catch this powerful Pokemon with our full guide.

Enamorus was first introduced to Pokemon players back in Pokemon Legends: Arceus in January 2022. Now, the ferocious flying Pokemon is whisking its way into Pokemon Go, ready to take over Elite Raids.

With powerful stats and a unique type combination, Enamorus isn’t a pushover, so be sure to grab some strong friends and build a team ready for battle.

Enamorus weaknesses in Pokemon Go

As dual Fairy and Flying-type, Enamorus takes increased damage from Electric, Ice, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type moves.

However, it also has a decent handful of resistances, as it takes decreased damage from Bug, Dragon, Fighting, Ground, Dark, and Grass-type moves. Leave your dragons at home, and don’t even even bother with Garchomp.

Enamorus counters in Pokemon Go

Here are some of the best counters you can use to beat Enamorus in Pokemon Go:

POKEMONMOVESET
Metagross (Shadow) MetagrossBullet Punch & Meteor Mash
Mega GengarPokemon GO Mega GengarHex & Sludge Bomb
Mega DiancieMega DiancieRock Throw & Rock Slide
Rhyperior (Shadow)RhyperiorSmack Down & Rock Wrecker
Magnezone (Shadow)MagnezoneVolt Switch & Wild Charge
Mega TyranitarMega TyranitarSmack Down & Stone Edge
Thundurus (Therian Forme)Thundurus TherianVolt Switch & Wildbolt Storm

One thing worth remembering is that while Enamorus is resistant to Ground-type moves, it is weak against Rock-type, so Pokemon like Tyranitar are a great fit here. While some ‘mons have both Rock and Ground-type moves, focus on Rock and go from there.

There are quite a lot of great counters with just regular Pokemon, so if you don’t have access to some of the big Legendary Pokemon, consider some classic picks like Alolan Golem or even Mega Steelix.

How to get Enamorus in Pokemon Go

Niantic is adding Enamorus to Pokemon Go via Elite Raids on February 14, 2024. The Elite Raid Hours on this day are as follows:

  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Local time
  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Local time
  • 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Local time
  • 6:00 – 7:00 PM Local time

Find an Elite Raid near you during these hours, and team up with several friends nearby. Then, you can use a Raid Pass for the chance to battle Enamorus and hopefully capture one.

As with all Elite Raids, this event must be tackled in person, meaning players cannot use Remote Raid Passes to play from home or invite other players from around the world.

Can Enamorus be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Currently, at the time of writing, Enamorus will not be available in its Shiny form as part of the upcoming February 2024 Elite Raid Day.

It may become possible to capture its Shiny form in the future, but it is not possible right now.
