Varoom in Pokemon Go

Here’s an overview of how Pokemon Go players can get Varoom, how to evolve it, and if the Steel/Poison-type can be Shiny in the mobile game.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet saw the addition of several new Pokemon added to the franchise. One such Pokemon was Varoom, a Steel/Poison-type. Varoom’s evolution Revavroom should be well-known to Scarlet & Violet players, as it was used extensively by Team Star.

The Steel/Poison-type was unavailable in Pokemon Go before 2024. That, however, changed when Varoom was added to the mobile game thanks to a new event.

So, here’s a look at how to get Varoom, how to evolve it, and whether a Shiny version of the creature can be found.

Can Varoom be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

No, Pokemon Go players are not able to get a Shiny Varoom as of this writing. This also means that the Shiny version of Revaroom is also not available in Pokemon Go.

Traditionally, Niantic tends to not release the Shiny version of a Pokemon along with its normal version when one debuts in Pokemon Go. Instead, the developer of the mobile game usually waits for a future event to release the Shiny version.

The Shiny version of Varoom was not made available when the Steel/Poison-type was released.
