Unlike normal Sceptile, Mega Sceptile is dual Grass and Dragon-type, so while it has access to the same moves as Sceptile, it can make better use of some Dragon-type moves.

Mega Sceptile can learn the following moves in Pokemon Go:

Fast moves

  • Fury Cutter (Bug)
  • Bullet Seed (Grass)

Charged moves

  • Earthquake (Ground)
  • Aerial Ace (Flying)
  • Dragon Claw (Dragon)
  • Breaking Swipe (Dragon)
  • Leaf Blade (Grass)
  • Frenzy Plant (Grass) [Event exclusive move]

In PvP the best moveset for Mega Sceptile is Fury Cutter and Frenzy Plant, however, Frenzy Plant is an event-exclusive move, so you will need either a Sceptile evolved during an event like a Community Day, or an Elite Charged TM.

Together, Fury Cutter and Frenzy Plant have really coverage type coverage, with the Bug-type move also posing a threat to Psychic-type Pokemon. Leaf Blade is also a good choice if you don’t have access to Frenzy Plant.

For Raids the best Pokemon Go Mega Sceptile moveset is Bullet Seed and Frenzy Plant. This makes the best use of Mega Sceptile’s STAB bonus, causing a massive threat to other Pokemon like Primal Kyogre and Mega Gyarados.
