Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will adapt the entire Shibuya Incident arc from the manga, and therefore, the series will have a narrator for the first time.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is, without a doubt, the most anticipated anime of the year. Following the huge popularity of the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc, the series took a three-week hiatus.

JJK made its grand return last week with the fan-favorite Shibuya Incident arc, and it’s off to an amazing start. The teaser and opening themes are highly intense, as fans are already anticipating some of the strongest action sequences in the Shonen genre.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will have a narrator, unlike the first season and prequel movie. Here’s everything we know about the voice actor.

Yoshiko Sakakibara is the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 narrator

Jujutsu Kaisen leakers have confirmed the new narrator in Season 2: Yoshiko Sakakibara will give her voice in the Japanese version. The narrator for the dubbed version hasn’t been revealed yet. Sakakibara is a veteran voice actor and narrator known for her role in some of the greatest anime classics of all time, including Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yûgi, Inuyasha, and so on.

Why didn’t Jujutsu Kaisen have a narrator before?

Jujutsu Kaisen didn’t have a narrator before, and most of the complex powers were explained by Ichiji. In 2021, JJK screenwriter Seko Hiroshi explained Gege Akutami’s request not to include a narrator, with the creator believing it’d feel uncomfortable in the anime. However, they faced difficulty allocating the narration as a character’s dialogue or monologue.

Season 1 sailed by without any major problems, but the new season is way more different and complicated. The series is getting more intense now, and with the complex powers of curses, the manga has a lot of narration. As Shibuya will become a warzone, the characters will be scattered throughout. Therefore, it’s definitely crucial for a narrator to explain the ongoing events and the complex techniques featured in the season.
