Everyone’s new favorite Spider-Man, Miles Morales, will potentially appear in Spider-Man 4 and many fans wonder who could play him. So, we’ve compiled a list of five potential candidates for the role.

Ever since Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse first debuted in 2018, fans have been begging to see Miles Morales join the MCU in a live-action capacity.

In both Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse, Miles is seen as your typical, mixed race teenager who had greatness thrust upon him after acquiring Spider-Man’s superpowers thanks to a radioactive spider bite.

Fans weren’t sure if they would ever see Miles outside of the animated world but, the teenager could appear in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 film, though no actor has been cast in the role just yet.

Potential Miles Morales casting for Spider-Man 4

According to superhero inside Daniel Richtman, Miles will be making his live-action debut in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 movie.

The fourth film will star Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who has been seen as the definitive neighborhood hero since his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War.

It’s no surprise Miles could be sharing the same screen as Holland’s Peter Parker as the actor told Inverse, “I would be honored to bring Miles Morales into the live-action world. How we do that, I don’t know, but given the opportunity, I would jump at it.”

But, who could bring the young hero into the live-action space? Below are five potential prospects for the role:

Caleb McLaughlin

Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things

Caleb McLaughlin is about to depart from his final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, so he’s no stranger to being in big budget projects full of super heroes.

Much like McLaughlin, Miles is a cool young man who does have a bit of an awkward side to him, so the young actor could do well with slipping into the mask for his post-Stranger Things career. Despite being 22-years-old, McLaughlin can still pass as a teenager, but for how long?

Miles Brown

Miles Brown as Jack Johnson in Black-ish

Miles Brown, best known as being the more sensitive twin, Jack, on ABC’s Black-ish, has grown into a very capable actor.

He definitely has the swagger needed for a Gen Z Spider-Man, and most importantly, he fits Miles’ background as he’s half Black, half Hispanic.

Shameik Moore

Shameik Moore as Stuart Bale in Let it Snow

On the surface, Shameik Moore seems like one of the most logical choices when it comes to playing Miles Morales, as he has already voiced Miles in both Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse, so fans of the films would love to see him don the mask in real life and not just hear his voice.

The only problem is, Moore is already 28-years-old, and production on Spider-Man 4 is not even underway yet. Not to mention the fact that whoever takes on this role will likely have a big part to play in upcoming Marvel movies for years to come.

Jharrel Jerome

Jharrel Jerome as Cootie in I'm a Virgo

Much like Moore, Jharrel Jerome would be a great choice for Miles because he already has some connection to the character. At the end of Across the Spider-Verse, it’s revealed that Jerome voices Miles G. Morales, AKA Prowler, Earth-42’s evil version of the character fans have come to known and love.

Seeing Jerome play live-action Miles would definitely be a treat for Spider-Verse fans. The actor has great screen presence and the acting chops to pull this off, and at 26-years-old he is probably just young enough to make it work.

Chance Perdomo

Chance Perdomo as Ambrose Spellman in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Chance Perdomo would be an excellent casting choice for Miles as he’s fresh off playing another super powered individual. Perdomo can be seen on Gen V as Andre Anderson, a young college student with magnetic manipulation capabilities.

It wouldn’t be that big of a leap to see the British actor shed his metal bending abilities in favor of more spider-centric ones.

Though any of these actors would do a fantastic job at bringing Miles to life, it is more likely that Marvel and Sony will decide to go with a relatively unknown actor for their new Spider-Man, just like they did with Tom Holland. In fact, the next Spidey is probably just getting ready to start high school as we speak.
