is adin Ross retiring from streaming?

An alleged statement from Adin Ross is going viral online, claiming that the streamer retired from Kick. However, he has since returned to the platform and might even go back to Twitch if he can get unbanned.

Kick streamer Adin Ross seemingly departed from Kick a week ago when a fan account tweeted a statement claiming that Ross had retired for good.

On April 17, fan account ‘Adin Updates’ posted a lengthy statement alleging that the Kick streamer would be retiring from streaming immediately. However, the same resignation letter had previously been used to announce other streamers’ retirements as well, casting further doubt on the claims.

Adin Updates, who claims to not be “impersonating” Ross, tweeted to their 105k followers a statement with the caption, “Adin Ross with a message.”

The announcement read: “Today, I stand before you with a heart full of gratitude and a head full of memories as I embark on this journey called retirement.”

The post went on to thank Ross’s fans and fellow streamers. “First and foremost, I want to thank my incredible fans… to my fellow content creators and colleagues, thank you for the camaraderie, the collaborations, and endless laughs.”

Fans of his shared their thoughts about a world without one of the most popular Kick streamers.

“His streams helped me out of a hard place after my mom died. I hope this isn’t true and that he continues to stream in the future,” said one viewer. “Nooooo my king,” quipped another.

Many others questioned if the statement was truly from Ross. “He didn’t write this lmao,” wrote one viewer. “April Fools was 16 days ago,” agreed another.

Adin Ross returns to Kick

Despite being away from Kick for a week, Ross made his return on April 18. During the broadcast, he had a few things to say about the platform and even mentioned a possible return to Twitch.

“I’m back!” he proclaimed. “I already broke the platform, this sh*tty ass platform, bro. I’m already going back to Twitch,” Ross continued to express.

Ross went on with his Kick rant, “Why the f*ck is the chat already breaking, bro? This sh*tty ass f*cking platform. I’ve been gone for a week and this sh*t is still axed.”

Fans reacted to Ross’s opinion by agreeing that Kick should “overhaul the website ASAP.” Meanwhile, others reiterated how just last year, people said Kick would become so successful that Twitch would “go extinct.”

During Ross’ Kick spew, he also pleaded to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy to unban him from the platform, as he doesn’t like his current group of friends. He also mentioned that he would prefer to collaborate with Kai Cenat and that Cenat would ‘show him the way’ so he stays on the right track.

Ross’s alleged retirement would come after five years of streaming, as he began his online career in 2018 when he first joined Twitch. Though Ross was banned from Twitch in 2023 for having a chat box open with offensive slurs, he moved on to Kick, where he soon became one of the platform’s most-watched streamers.

His success on Kick soon led him to signing a 3-year contract this year worth millions. Despite “not talking numbers,” Ross made it clear that he was “re-signed” and that this year was “going to be crazy.”

Ross’s influence on Kick even swayed popular streamers like Amouranth and xQc to put Twitch behind them and make Kick their new home, with xQc famously signing a non-exclusive contract with the green platform to the tune of $100 million dollars in 2023.

Despite Ross’ alleged resignation letter, it is clear that he has no urgency to leave streaming any time soon, even if Kick is giving him trouble.
