Stardew Valley has plenty of valuable resources around Pelican Town for players to gather, like Oak Resin, which can be used in crafting recipes and other activities. If you are in need of some, here are all the ways you can get this liquid in Stardew Valley, as well as all the purposes it serves in the game.

Stardew Valley players can spend their time around town however they want, from harvesting crops to chopping down trees, crafting items, and even fighting monsters in mines.

Some of those trees that grow around your farm or in the forest can give you more than just wood. If you chop them down completely, you can obtain other resources like Sap or seeds. More so, if you put a Tapper on Oaks, you can get the valuable Oak Resin.

This item can be used to craft handy goods like the Keg or clothing items like the Floppy Beanie. Most importantly, you can use Oak Resin to complete missions or bundles in the Crafting Room.

If you want to know all the ways you can get Oak Resin in the game, as well as all its uses, we’ve got you covered.

How to get Oak Resin in Stardew Valley

There are a few different ways players can get Oak Resin in ConcernedApe’s farm simulator:

Tapping trees

The easiest way to get Oak Resin in the game is to extract it from Oak trees that grow naturally around your farm or the Cindesap Forest.

To do so, you’ll need to place a Tapper on any of them and wait between 7 and 8 days if you use a regular one, and 3 days if you use a Heavy Tapper. As soon as the Oak Resin appears, you can collect it just by interacting with the Tapper.

You can craft a Tapper with 40 Wood and 2 Copper Bars. However, to access this Refining Equipment you have to reach level 3 on your Farming Skills first.

Killing Skulls

Another way to get Oak Resin is to kill the Haunting Skulls roaming around the Quarry Cave or deep inside the mines. However, they have a very low drop rate, so don’t get your hopes up.

What can you use Oak Resin for in Stardew Valley?

Oak Resin has many uses, and it’s even needed for some special missions in the game.

Deluxe Speed-Gro

Instead of buying it, you can craft this leaf stimulator that increases leaf production and helps crops grow thanks to its guaranteed crop growth rate of 25% when mixed into tilled soil. However, players need to reach level 8 of their Farming Skill to be able to produce it.

  • Deluxe Speed-Gro: 1 Oak Resin + 1 Coral

Keg

This Artisan Equipment is used to make artisan goods. Players can place a fruit or other ingredients inside to make a beverage like wine, coffee, beer, and more.

  • Keg: 1 Oak Resin + 30 Wood + 1 Copper Bar + Iron Bar

Clothing

You can use Oak Resin in the Sewing Machine to create a Floppy Beanie and afterward, you can create Green Dye with it at Emily’s and Hayley’s house.

Quests

There is one particular Fish Pond quest that will require an Oak Resin in order to increase your pond capacity from 5 to 7.

As Gifts

You can gift Oak Resin to any villager in Pelican Town. But it’s worth noting that all of them will react with dislike towards it, except for Maru, who will like it immediately.

Bundle mission

Oak Resin is needed in two different bundles in the Community Center. You’ll need one for the Enchanter’s Bundle on the Bulletin Board and another one for the Exotic Foraging Bundle in the Crafts Room.
