How to complete GTA Online 2-Step Verification to get $500,000 free

Connor Bennett

Rockstar Games have introduced a new way to get a free $500,000 in GTA Online and it all requires is for you to activate two-step verification on your Social Club account. Here’s how to set it up.

While there are plenty of ways to earn money in GTA Online – races, robberies, stealing cars, and much much more – there is no better thing than free cash. Rockstar Games dole out the free money every now again, be it to celebrate a special occasion, a new update, or because they’re in the giving mood.

However, since April 13, players had been reporting an issue that had been giving them more money than planned. The Grand Theft Auto developers were meant to give players a one-time log-in bonus of $500,000, though many players were getting it more than once – in some cases, racking up millions in free cash.

In order to prevent it from happening any further, players had noted that you can now set up two-step verification on your Rockstar Social Club account.

This will still get you an additional $500,000 of the in-game bonus and it isn’t all that hard of a process either. Just follow the simple steps below and you’ll be back to earning free cash in no time at all.

How to activate two-step verification on Rockstar Social Club

  1. Head to the Rockstar Social Club and log in
  2. Click the account drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner of the page
  3. Make sure your Social Club account is linked to your Xbox Gamertag or PlayStation Network account
  4. Head to the 2-step verification tab next to Linked Accounts
  5. Click setup and follow the steps by scanning the unique QR code that appears

Once you’ve followed those steps and confirmed that the account is yours, you’ll want to give it some time before hopping back into the virtual streets of Los Santos. Though, it shouldn’t be too long before your Maze Bank account is flush with free cash.

With Rockstar pushing the two-step verification method, they could well require everyone to do this for future log-in bonuses – just so nobody is able to abuse the system. So, you’ll probably want to get a headstart and make it happen so that you don’t miss out in the future.
