Wuthering Waves is a brand-new name in the gacha game market. The title is set for release in 2024 with a Closed Beta Test running as of writing this article. This game features an open-world setting similar to Genshin Impact.

Apart from all that, the game also features a gacha, where you can drop pulls to receive characters (Resonators) and weapons. Every gacha game has a pity system where you will eventually receive a 5-star character once you hit a certain number of pulls.

How does the pity system work in Wuthering Waves

The pity system of Wuthering Waves is quite forgiving where you will get the most value for your pulls. Here is what you need to know about it:

Character Banners

• Limited Banner: You are guaranteed to receive a 5-star in 80 pity. Your first 5-star will be a 50/50 chance between a standard banner character and the limited rate-up character. If you receive a standard banner character as your first 5-star, your next one will be a guaranteed rate-up unit.
• Standard Banner: You are guaranteed to receive Verina, Calcharo, Jianxin, Encore, and Ling Yang in 80 pity.

Weapon Banners

• Limited Banner: 100% guarantee to receive the 5-star limited weapon in 80 pity.
• Standard Banner: 100% guarantee to receive a standard banner weapon of your choosing in 80 pity.

Beginner Banner

• Receive one 5-star character between Jianxin, Encore, and Ling Yang after you finish the pulls. In the beginner banner, you need 8 wishes for a 10 pull.

Therefore, the weapon banner is probably the best one ever in this game as regardless of what you do, you are guaranteed to receive what you wish for. The character banners are also quite good, though these are the standard rates for almost any gacha game.

There is currently no information available on the presence of a soft pity in Wuthering Waves.

How to get a guaranteed 5-star in Wuthering Waves

The best way to receive a guaranteed 5-star in Wuthering Waves is to pull in the beginner banner. The number of pulls you require in this banner is less than others, and you will receive a 5-star pretty early.

In the other banners, you are still guaranteed to receive a 5-star, but you will need close to 80 pulls.
