FIFA 20 Throwback Marquee Matchups SBC (Week 3): solution & cost

EA Sports have launched a brand new set of FIFA 20 squad building challenges (SBCs), this time relating to a number of ‘Marquee Matchups’ from last year.

FIFA 20 has seen EA rolling out brand new SBCs regularly, trying to keep challenges fresh for players to complete. The most recent Throwback Marquee Matchups SBCs have seen EA set challenges relating to a number of key fixtures from the 2018/19 season.

The deadline for these is April 9 but, given the fairly cheap nature of solutions, you shouldn’t have a problem completing them all in due course.

Jeonbuk Hyundai vs Ulsan Hyundai FIFA 20 SBC

These are taken from all over the world, meaning players might need a bit of help to complete them. The first, and probably most unfamiliar to players, is a clash from the South Korean top tier, between Jeonbuk Hyundai and Ulsan Hyundai. In the 2019 K-League campaign, the two sides played one another four times. The results were pretty even, with both sides winning one and drawing two.

To complete this challenge and get the Premium Electrum Players Pack, players must submit one squad. It requires a at least one South Korean player, three leagues, two rare players, ten gold cards and 75 chemistry.

Thankfully, this one is pretty cheap and easy to complete. At the time of writing, it will cost players between 5,000 and 6,000 coins depending on your platform. Thanks to the guys over at FUTBIN, we’ve listed the cheapest solution in the current market. Note that these are subject to fluctuation and, given the challenge, we’ll probably see a slight increase in the cost of all South Korean players.

This should be incredibly cheap regardless of your platform.

Spartak Moscow vs CSKA Moscow FIFA 20 SBC

The second squad players need to complete as part of the Throwback Marquee Matchups SBC is one straight out of the Russian capital. Over the 2018/19 season, CSKA and Spartak finished 5th and 6th respectively. Their last meeting, in August 2019, was won 2-1 by Spartak. The individual reward for this SBC is a Gold Players Pack.

Similar to the K-League, this squad is pretty simple, cheap and easy. The requirements are a minimum of one player from Russia, three rare players, ten gold players, 80 chemistry and a maximum of three players from one club.

Once again, this squad won’t set players back a lot of coins. Depending on platform it will cost between 6,000 and 10,000 coins. Below is one of the cheapest possible options.

This is a cheap and easy solution to the Moscow derby SBC.

Borussia Mönchengladbach vs FC Schalke 04 FIFA 20 SBC

The third and penultimate squad players have to complete is from the Bundesliga. In the 2018/19 season they experienced mixed fortunes, with Schalke finishing 14th, while M’gladbach finished 5th.

To complete this squad and earn the Prime Electrum Players Pack, players must complete a fairly simple squad. It needs at least one player from Schalke or M’gladbach, two players from the Bundesliga, two rare players, a 79 OVR rating and 80 chemistry. It also has a maximum of five nationalities.

While it certainly sounds more difficult, it can still be completed for less than 10,000 coins, regardless of the platform you play on. Below is one of the cheapest options.

This should be very easy to do, given the commonality of Bundesliga and Eredivisie players.

Athletic Bilbao vs FC Barcelona FIFA 20 SBC

The final squad players have to complete is one inspired by the matchup between Athletic Club Bilbao and Barcelona. Two historic Spanish sides, their last two matchups have ended 1-0 to Bilbao.

The requirements for this squad are as follows: minimum of one player from Athletic Club or Barcelona, two players from LaLiga Santander, three rare players, OVR 80 rating and 85 chemistry. There is also a limit of 7 players from the same league.

While the hardest of any of the Marquee Matchup squads, it remains fairly cheap and simple. It will cost between 9,000 and 12,000 coins depending on your platform. Below is one of the cheapest options.

This Basque vs Catalonia derby is one of Spain’s most famous.

FIFA 20 Throwback Marquee Matchup SBCs Overall Cost & Reward

There you have it, those are the four squads you have to complete to earn the overall reward, which is a Rare Electrum Players Pack. While this is nowhere near as good as some of the other SBC rewards FIFA 20 has seen, it’s important to remember the incredibly cheap cost of these four XIs.

While some SBC challenges set players back nearly a million coins (like the Bruno Fernandes POTM SBC),  the total cost for these four squads is roughly 31,500 coins on PS4 and 32,000 coins on Xbox One and PC.

With the launch of FIFA 21 seeing millions of football fans across the globe start competing to try and become the best in FIFA Ultimate Team, the first Ones to Watch promo team is fast approaching. Here’s everything we know about it.

Ones to Watch follows players that have transferred to other teams, promising them upgrades for every time they make a new promo such as Team of the Week, Team of the Tournament and more.

As such, OTW cards are highly desirable, and if you get a decent one at the start of the year, you could see a lot of improvements as the season unravels.

So, here’s everything we know about Ones to Watch in FIFA 21, including release dates and times, the players included and more.
