Jeffree Star has been involved in several controversies throughout the years, but now the internet personality has found himself in hot water after being sued for using Anna Nicole Smith’s name in a lipstick shade.

Jeffree Star is a multi-talented internet personality, but he’s best known for being the founder and owner of Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

His cosmetics company reportedly sells more than 100 million dollars worth of products each year. It started with three lipstick colors and expanded into a whopping collection of many different make-up products.

However, the company has recently been sued by Anna Nicole Smith’s estate for selling a lipstick named “Anna Nicole” in their Velour Liquid Lipsticks line. The estate inherited all the intellectual property rights associated with her name after she passed away in February 2007.

The estate believes the lipstick was clearly named after Anna Nicole Smith. They also claim it’s a very similar shade to the one she wore herself. What’s more, it seems like Jeffree Star Cosmetics never sought out permission to use her name on their products.

This prompted them to file a lawsuit, claiming Jeffree Star Cosmetics used Anna Nicole Smith’s “name, image, and likeness to advertise for sale and sell its different commercial products.”

The estate also claimed the company is selling a lip liner and eyeliner inspired by Anna Nicole Smith. It also happens to be one of their best-selling products.

If their lawsuit is successful, it’s very likely that they could be entitled to some or all of the profits Jeffree Star Cosmetics has made from selling the Anna Nicole lipstick, as well as the additional lip liner and eyeliner.

Jeffree Star has not made an official response to the lawsuit yet. However, we will update you as more information arises.
