The direct messaging feature on Instagram is used by millions of people on a daily basis to communicate with other users — but is there a way to turn off read receipts on Instagram?

In the age of social media where everyone can see everything you’re doing, Instagram has become one of the most popular platforms.

One of the most-used features on the app is undoubtedly the DM function, which stands for “direct message”. This feature allows users to message each other privately, whether that’s to send a funny post they’ve seen or to just have a conversation via text.

Just like other messaging apps like iMessage or WhatsApp, Instagram lets the other person know whenever you’ve read their message. But is there a way to turn off read receipts on Instagram?
