Setting up a co-op multiplayer is quite easy. Here are the various steps you need to follow to achieve that:

Start a new world and remember to turn Multiplayer On.
Create your character and begin your journey.
You will receive a passcode as soon as you open the main menu after going through the initial part of the game.
Share this passcode with the people whom you want to play with game with.

Once your friends enter the passcode, they will join your world and start playing with you. In Palworld you can also join dedicated servers that allow a total of 32 players. However, this feature is only available on Steam, which means Xbox players are out of luck.

Additionally, the game allows only four players to play together simultaneously in co-op. Finally, it is crucial to mention here that your progression; meaning your character and Pals are locked to one particular world. This means every time you join a new multiplayer instance, you will have to create a new character.

The multiplayer session remains active as long as the host is online. Once the host goes offline, all the players in that instance are kicked out.
