What is Knives Out?

Knives Out was created by NetEase back in 2017 and looks pretty similar to PUBG. One difference to other battle royale titles, however, is that it has an absolutely huge map spanning 6400x6400m.

Published by Tencent, the mobile title has picked up fans across Asia – but especially in Japan. Back in 2018, it was reported that  80% of the game’s revenue, which happened to surpass Fortnite, came from Japan. It was also noted that, on average, players spent around $370 on the free-to-play title.

What game modes are in Knives Out?

Like many battle royales, the game supports up to 100 player lobbies as each soul looks to win the survival of the fittest and be crowned the champion.

Of course, you can also find teammates to watch your back as well, with the traditional four-player squad mode that you see in Fortnite and PUBG making way for five-player teams.

Is it exclusive to PS5?

As of writing, the game is available globally on iOS and Android devices, as well as Nintendo Switch in Japan. However, it could be coming to the PS5 when it launches.

A LinkedIn page from a NetEase developer revealed that the game has been worked on for both a PS4 and PS5 launch. With a PS4 launch seemingly planned, the response to it could very well decide if the battle royale makes it to the next-generation of console.
