Sons of the Forest after an early access period since 2023 has spread its wings through the full v1.0 launch in February 2024. This update brings a plethora of additions, changes, and improvements including an alternate ending for players to unlock, new enemies, tools, and a lot more.
Among all the new tools and items, the 3D Printer has been present since the early access days and is a crucial piece of equipment you can find to craft various items you need to survive the unknown after the helicopter crash. With that said, here’s how you can find the 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest.

In Sons of the Forest, there are four places where you can get your hands on a 3D Printer. The image above shows all the locations of these item printing machines.
However, the easiest places to get a 3D Printer are the Entertainment Bunker and Maintenance Bunker A on the western and northern sides of the map, respectively.
Out of these two, we’d recommend you get the printer from the Entertainment Bunker which is situated inside a cave near a river, between the snow-capped mountains and the ocean. The primary reason is that you won’t need any tools here unlike Maintenance Bunker A in the north where you’ll need to carry a shovel.
How to get a 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest
To get a 3D Printer from the Entertainment Bunker in Sons of the Forest, simply:
- Head over to the western part of the map and follow the blinking green icons on the GPS Locator.
- Your cue to being close to the cave entrance is an old golf cart. Once you find it, you can locate the cave by a few more footsteps ahead.
- Enter a cave and make your way to the bunker underground. You don’t need to carry any weapons as enemies don’t spawn in this location – one of the main reasons we’ve suggested this place instead of Maintenance Bunker A!
- Finally, you’ll come across a room with a 3D Printer beside a laptop and a monitor.
You can use that laptop to craft items but you’ll require a few things to do so.

To craft items using a 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest, you’ll need Printer Resin. After finding one, all you need to do is:
- Press the R button to browse through different craftable items.
- Press the E button to start printing your desired item.
