A fresh Fortnite leak has seemingly revealed the next Marvel character that will appear in the battle royale – and its someone that everyone has been waiting for.

Even though many fans are already looking ahead to Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5, and what theme that might bring to the battle royale, Epic Games are keeping on with updating Season 4.

Given the expansive cast of characters that Marvel have under the belt, the Fortnite developers have a wide range of ideas to work with when it comes to adding new characters, new cosmetics, and new map locations.

Plenty of potential characters have already been teased, including the likes of Venom and Ghost Rider, but it looks like the next Marvel hero to arrive in the game has been revealed thanks to a leak.

Season 4 has been all about Marvel, but that will change in Season 5.

The new leak comes from reliable data miner SizzyLeaks, who showed that there are superhero particles in-game for a character with the code name Cherry.

Obviously, this isn’t a Marvel hero named Cherry, but instead, someone whose name begins with a C. Most believe it is Captain Marvel given that she has appeared on a number of graphics alongside Fortnite characters and is one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel universe.

As for what these in-game particles relate to? Well, they’re all about the character having a ‘Fireball’ ability. This, again, fits the bill for Captain Marvel as one of her biggest powers is being able to fire energy blasts from her hands.

Some fans have also suggested that it could be Crystal, who has appeared in comics for both the Fantastic Four and The Avengers in the past – and is also able to manipulate elements like fire.

Unlike Captain Marvel, though, she hasn’t appeared in any of the Fortnite x Marvel crossover images, so while it’s plausible, she seems like an outside shot.

Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see who Epic Games actually adds to the game before the end of Season 4, but all signs point to Captain Marvel.
