Wood carving streamer Broxh went has seen some substantial channel growth after a clip of him trying to return the money for gifted subs went viral.

During an April 20 broadcast, Bronxh was doing some carving when suddenly a viewer gifted three tier 1 subs, much to the surprise of the streamer who stopped what he was doing in disbelief.

“Wait, did someone gift some subs?” he wondered, before walking towards the camera. “Aw bro, you didn’t have to!”

The streamer’s channel is focused around wood carving.

Then, the New Zealander did something truly unexpected. He wanted to give the money the viewer spent on the subs back.

“Can I give the money back?” he asked. “Is there any way I can give the money back?”

He chuckled at the turn of events and asked his viewers not to spend their hard-earned money on him: “You don’t have to sub! You don’t have to. You can watch the stuff for free. Like, that’s the best thing you can do.”

Bronxh went on to suggest his followers use their money on their families and not on him.

The clip of the streamer wanting to return the money has since garnered a lot of attention and has been viewed nearly 100,000 times on Twitch alone.

According to the third-party stat-tracking website TwitchMetrics, Bronxh began April with a mere 50 followers but has now surpassed 20,000.

Bronxh’s refusal to accept money at Twitch comes at a time where several streamers have urged their viewers to subscribe to their channel. Notably, InvaderVie recently came under fire after she called her unsubscribed viewers “cheapskates” – a comment she has since apologized for.

Additionally, another streamer, FrostyMatrixTV, told his younger viewers to steal their parents’ credit cards so they could pay for a subscription.

How is Bronxh dealing with his newfound fame? On Twitter, the streamer simply posted a gif of My Hero Academia’s All Might saying “I am here” and thanked everyone for their generosity.

“I just woke up. Crazy! I don’t even know what’s going on!” he laughed. “But thank you, everyone, for your support!”

It just goes to show that a little act of kindness can lead to incredible rewards.
