Popular streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa has been banned from Twitch after she revealed too much of herself during a live broadcast.

Update, September 12, 07:42 AM EST: Amouranth has now been unbanned from Twitch, indicating her ban length was three-days for the community guideline violation.

Boasting nearly 1.2 million followers on Twitch, Amouranth is one of the most successful streamers on the platform, with most of her content focused around the IRL section, such as eyebrow-raising streams and cosplays.

She’s toed the line with the streaming website’s Terms of Service on a few occasions, but one major slip-up has finally caused the ban hammer to drop.

During a September 8 stream, Amouranth was playing casually with her dog and chatting to her viewers, and all seemed fine until a major wardrobe malfunction struck like lightning.

As she was rolling over, she unknowingly exposed herself multiple times, leading her viewers to flood the chat with messages and warnings.

That moment was captured and turned into a clip, and despite the fact that it was doing massive rounds on Reddit and other social platforms following her stream, it took Twitch admins almost 12 hours to suspend and shut down her account.

Twitch’s Community Guidelines state that sexually explicit and suggestive content is prohibited on the platform, as well as wearing attire that is “intended to be sexually suggestive.”

As is usually the case with these suspensions, no one knows exactly how long they are for, although the usually don’t end up lasting for more than 30 days.

Similar incidents have drawn long-term bans for appearing nude on stream. Twitch partner ‘BadBunny’ was suspended for three days after exposing herself on stream in April, while overnight Korean Twitch streamer ‘Addielyn’ apologised to her fans after starting her stream preemptively while naked.

INSTAGRAM:AMOURANTHAmouranth is a controversial figure on Twitch due to the nature of her streams.

Amouranth had an average viewer count of 2,000 during the month of August, according to stats site TwitchTracker. She also had over a million followers at the time she was banned, and she has a suspected 8,000 subscribers.

Her followership on other sites is large as well. She has just under 800 patreons, who subscribe for her regular and adult cosplays, while her Twitter page has 227,300 followers.

Neither Twitch or Amouranth has released a statement about the incident yet.

Popular music streamer and DragonForce guitarist Herman Li has had his Twitch account banned on October 27, with the reason still unknown.

In a shock move, Twitch has suspended popular musician Herman Li from streaming on the platform, which he uses to provide insight into the life of professional musicians, as well as to shred his guitar like the metal God that he is.

Known for being the lead guitarist of Grammy-winning heavy rock group DragonForce – the masterminds behind the infamous ‘Through the Fire and Flames’ that dominated every Guitar Hero players’ childhood, Li has been praised over the years for his musical talents.

The guitarist has become somewhat of an icon on the platform, so it shocked fans to see his channel was no longer available.

Li has become not only a DragonForce icon, but a Twitch one too.

Is this a DMCA ban?

At the time of writing, the reason for Li’s ban is unknown. Twitch does not comment on moderation decisions as a matter of privacy.

Speculation though, is that the artist has been banned as part of the new wave of DMCA strikes that have been sweeping across Twitch. As a musical streamer, DMCA makes the lives of musicians particularly difficult. Many have and may be banned in the future due to these new regulations – even if they are playing their own music.

In April, Li was livid as Universal muted his music on YouTube.

Neither Li nor Twitch have elaborated on why the ban has taken place. No matter the reason though, this news comes will come as a shock to both Li and his fans, especially when he addressed the Twitch ban situation directly on stream back in June, reassuring other streamers that using his band’s music would not result in a DMCA strike.

Li stated that: “We know all these crazy things are happening on Twitch, people getting banned, people getting taken down, DMCA, I can tell you, you can play any song from the latest DragonForce album, Extreme Power Metal, and you will not get a strike. I assure you, you will be ok. Because we are very good friends with our people from the record label, who also love Twitch, so you will not have a problem.”

We will update this story if more details on the reason behind Li’s suspension become clear.
