How to fix CoD Warzone 0% installation bug on PS4 and Xbox One

Call of Duty Warzone has been a smash hit since it was released in March, reaching over 15 million players and becoming the game of choice for some of the biggest streamers in the game.

However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows in the battle royale title, as players trying to update their Warzone game have been facing issues where the download starts, but never progresses past 0%.

This is a somewhat common bug that a number of players on both Xbox One and Playstation 4 are complaining about, but it seems there are some simple fixes available to get your downloads going properly and counter the bug.

The Modern Warfare download is a big one, but also includes Warzone.

The suggested fix for the bugged Warzone install on PS4 is an easy one, as all you have to do is quit your game.

Once doing so, check on the progress in the Notifications menu, which should hopefully get going again as a result. It’s important that you wait until the entire download is complete before getting the game up and running again.

The issue occurs because Warzone can be opened once 20GB of the download is done, but by that point, the actual Warzone game hasn’t been updated, just the standalone Modern Warfare.

Patience is key – make sure the entire download is complete before starting up Warzone.

Again, the fix for the installation issue on Xbox One is as painfully simple as that for PS4: restart your console.

Once you’ve restarted your Xbox One, the Warzone download should continue on as normal, and once again you’re recommended to make sure the entire download is complete before firing up the game.

On top of these recommendations, it’s worth noting that you need around 100GB on either PS4 or Xbox One to download Warzone, so you might have to delete some old games and files to make space for it.

Furthermore, if the above recommendations don’t work, it might be worth trying to uninstall the game entirely and start over. Though it might be a more lengthy process, it’s better than never having the game updated at all.
