Boostio “doesn’t believe in jinxes” after Valorant Champions win

Boostio says he doesn’t believe in karma or jinxes after winning Valorant Champions with Evil Geniuses.

Despite winning Champions, Boostio, alongside multiple members of Evil Geniuses, went their separate ways with new organizations.

Boostio joined former First Strike winners 100 Thieves by replacing Stellar as the in-game leader. That said, due to contract issues, he was unable to join the team until recently and has not had much time to practice.

The first match that 100 Thieves are playing with their new roster is at the Ludwig X Tarik Invitational 2 – a LAN event located in California. While watching the matches on stream, Boostio gave some insight into what he did before winning Champions.

Boostio touched the Champions trophy pre-maturely

When talking about his experience at Champions, Boostio shared that he did something ‘sacrilegious’ by touching the trophy before the win.

“I forgot, [Boostio] rolled off all the jinx’s on the way to Champs last year,” said analyst Sean Gares.

“I don’t believe in jinxes anymore,” said Boostio. “I actually believed in karma my whole life, then after Champs, sh*t-talking, touching the trophy, and then winning.”

“Do you mean you touched the trophy before you won,” asked Sean Gares. “That’s disrespectful,” Ludwig chimed in.

Ludwig went on to talk about how touching trophies before a big event is considered bad in traditional sports. However, Boostio was ready to push his luck no matter the cost.

With a new team for 2024, we will have to see if the same cocky attitude will transfer to wins like with Evil Geniuses.
