Young Sheldon Season 7 has kicked into first gear – but where are Sheldon and Mary? Here’s the full rundown.

Blink and you’ll miss him, but Young Sheldon isn’t so young anymore. Heading into the show’s seventh and final series, the once nine-year-old genius is now a 14-year-old teenager still putting the world to rights.

While lots of things are different – Georgie’s relationship with Mandy, Mary and George’s marriage – other things remain as they always were, including Sheldon’s inherent personality.

Young Sheldon Season 7: Where are Sheldon and Mary?

As Young Sheldon Season 7 begins, Sheldon and Mary are nowhere to be seen in Medford – because they are currently in Germany.

At the end of Season 6, Sheldon begins to worry about his application to Caltech, convinced he won’t be accepted despite running rings around the rest of his classmates. Dr. Sturgis is quick to help Sheldon out by connecting him to a school in Germany.

As Season 7 Episode 1 revealed, the Cooper family is split in two, with Mary and Sheldon based in Germany and not at home. Learning about the devastation in Texas – resulting in Meemaw losing her house among other sticking points – Mary is convinced the two need to return to the U.S. as soon as possible, although Sheldon disagrees.

Mary and Sheldon’s journey in the Season 6 finale has heavily informed fan predictions for Young Sheldon Season 7.

“Mary will somehow find out about the tornado and will return to the United States. Probably a few hours later Sheldon will get sick in Germany for the 1st time alone and get mistaken for a visiting professor,” one fan mused. “My thoughts are based on the episode where Penny took care of Sheldon when he was sick in Season 1 where Sheldon told Penny he got sick in Germany.”

“That destroyed me, oh my gosh. I feel so terribly bad for Connie,” another said of the Season 6 finale. “Mary doesn’t even know. It was great to see Iain’s smile and actually hear him laugh with the visiting professor on the plane.”

“I’ll bet that George is going to keep the fact that MeeMaw lost her house from Mary because he doesn’t want her and Sheldon to worry and come home,” a third weighed in.
