Overwatch fans may have a unique opportunity to unlock a special Tracer skin that was previously only available back when the Overwatch League was streamed on Twitch.

As spotted by users on Twitter, an OWL Tracer skin that used to be acquired by cheering with Bits on Twitch has had its description changed in-game.

Now, the Tracer Overwatch League Grey skin’s unlock description reads: “Unlocked by participating in the 2020 Overwatch League Grand Finals event.”

It’s unclear exactly what users will need to do in order to “participate” and unlock the skin, but it’s interesting to see that previously-limited items are returning in some capacity.

This said, it seems like only the Tracer skin has had its description changed as other users have noted that D.Va’s Grey OWL skin doesn’t include anything regarding the 2020 Grand Finals.

Speaking of which, it’s also unclear what event the description is referring to. The true Grand Finals match is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, but the “Grand Finals weekend” begins on Thursday, October 8.

Nonetheless, it’s expected that the league will announce how players can really unlock the skin once the All-Star events conclude, that is, of course, if the description change wasn’t done in error.

If the league does in fact bring back the older skins, it will be interesting to see if they end up doing the same with previously-limited skins such as All-Stars, Sinatraa and JJonak’s MVP skins, and the champion skins for the San Francisco Shock and London Spitfire.

The Overwatch League Grand Finals weekend kicks off on October 8 with the Seoul Dynasty taking on the San Francisco Shock while the Shanghai Dragons battle the Philadelphia Fusion.

From there, October 9 will see the winning teams compete while the losers duke it out in a double elimination mini-tournament eventually leading to the final match on October 10.
