Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick updated fans on Rockstar’s plans to release GTA 6 in 2025.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is easily the most-anticipated game of all time with its first trailer becoming the most-watched non-music video ever and players eagerly awaiting more news on the title.

The trailer, which debuted at the end of last year, revealed that Rockstar was planning to release the game in 2025, but no exact date was given, sparking even more speculation from fans.

During Take-Two Q3 2024 Earnings call, Strauss Zelnick was asked about the GTA 6 launch and when a decision to release the game will be made.

GTA 6 devs want “perfection” before 2025 release

According to Zelnick, no one person will be making the call to release GTA VI, claiming that everyone is “in this together.”

“We’re seeking perfection. When we feel that we’ve optimized this, we’ll plan for release,” he said. “We’re in this together. We have profit-sharing plans at the company, our goal is to align everyone’s interest with the shareholders.”

These remarks echo previous statements from Zelnick with the CEO stating that Rockstar is determined to “set creative benchmarks for the series, industry and entertainment” with the devs also looking to “exceed players’ expectations.”

Unfortunately, this seems to suggest that Rockstar could very well end up delaying the release of GTA 6 if the game still isn’t up to their elite standards by the time 2025 rolls around.

Early leaks of GTA 6 have already given users a glimpse of how Rockstar is pushing the franchise forward with enhanced visuals, new features, and expanding the world of Grand Theft Auto.

Expect to learn more about GTA 6 in the months ahead as fans eagerly await a second trailer and even more of Vice City, the game’s protagonists, and gameplay mechanics are revealed.
