If you’d prefer to take on the game‘s various difficulty settings alone for a greater challenge, you might be curious to know whether or not it’s possible to play offline. Not having to rely on a strong internet connection is always handy if you’re playing solo after all!

So, here’s everything we know about if Helldivers 2 can be enjoyed offline.

Can you play Helldivers 2 offline?

No, you can’t play Helldivers 2 offline.

Helldivers 2 requires online play, as evidenced by its official listing on the PlayStation store where it’s described as “an online multiplayer team shooter where you join a squad with up to three friends, so there is no offline or single-player game mode.”

While you do have the option to play solo, the sequel doesn’t include a specific single-player campaign or mode, so you’ll still be required to have internet access even if you’re playing alone. Helldivers 2 has been primarily advertised as a co-op experience, however, so playing with friends is the recommended way to go.
