New information has surfaced that points to a brand new in-game event called ‘Ice Storm’ coming soon to Fortnite Battle Royale.

Data miners have found in-game files that hint at the Ice Storm event, including several images, animations, and a new set of challenges that will seemingly unlock at various points during the event.

The leaks include three images that warn of inclement weather coming to the Fortnite map, and resemble animated and cartoon versions of what weather stations would normally show on television.

Speaking of television, one of the images features the Season 7 Ice King teaser image as the backdrop to the words “No Signal,’ which will presumably be shown on the numerous TV sets that can be found in-game.

This would be very similar to how the in-game TV sets flashed out warnings of incoming danger in the days and weeks leading up to the launch of Season 5 over the summer.

The challenges that will be available during Ice Storm have also been discovered and leaked, and feature requirements mostly involving dealing damage to certain things via certain types of weapons.

This leak comes courtesy of @FortniteGameLAT, although this is unofficial and thus subject to change by the time the event does go live in Fortnite.

  • Complete Ice Storm Challenges
  • Deal damage to the Ice Legion
  • Deal damage to the Ice Legion in a single match
  • Deal damage with Explosive Weapons to the Ice Legion
  • Deal damage with Assault Rifles or Pistols to the Ice Legion
  • Deal damage with Shotguns or SMGs to the Ice Legion
  • Destroy an Ice Shard in different matches.

As for the rewards for completing challenges, some those have been leaked as well, including the Winter’s Thorn Glider for completing all the challenges and the Blue Metallic Wrap for completing the first one.

Although there is no hard evidence to support this, it appears that the Ice Storm event is closely tied to the mysterious floating ice sphere that has appeared above Polar Peaks after the v7.20 update.

According to game files leaked by prominent data miner Lucas7Yoshi, the sphere will shatter at some point to cue the start of the event.

Lucas7Yoshi has also found five character animation that could provide more insight towards the sphere and the Ice Storm event. If and how these animations will come into play remains unclear, but they are clearly in the game for a reason.

Of course all of this is unofficial news and should be treated as nothing but speculation until there is confirmation or an announcement from Epic Games regarding this potential upcoming in-game event.

How to watch Fortnite’s J Balvin Afterlife Party: Event time & rewards

Epic Games have confirmed that a Fortnitemares Afterlife Party event with J Balvin is set to rock the Main Stage in Party Royale. Here’s what you need to know.

Over the years, as Fortnite has grown more and more in popularity, Epic Games have teamed up with TV shows, movies, and musicians for a number of live events.

This has included everything from something as simple as a DJ playing a few songs from their living room to showing off new trailer for a Star Wars movie. Though, it’s stretched all the way to Travis Scott having a jaw-dropping concert live event too.

With Fortnitemares now being live, the next event will involve Colombian artist J Balvin debuting a new song during an ‘Afterlife’ concert. So, here’s everything you need to know.

What time is the J Balvin event in Fortnite?

Just like a number of other events in Fortnite, there will be an initial showing before a number of encore shows so that everyone has the chance to get involved.

The initial J Balvin show will get underway on Saturday, October 31st at 9 pm EDT/1 am GMT/6 pm PDT and 2 am CEST. Though, if you miss the live showing, there will be two other showings.

The first replay, according to Epic, will happen a day later on Sunday, November 1st at a much reasonable time for European fans – 1 pm EDT/6 pm BST/10 am PDT and 7 pm CEST. The second replay will be five hours later on the same day.

How to get J Balvin Party Trooper Fortnite skin

While these events have, sometimes, given all players free rewards, the J Balvin event will be a little different.

Instead, anyone who owns the Party Trooper skin that attends the Afterlife Party will unlock an exclusive J Balvin style. However, you don’t have to wear the skin to the event to unlock it, you just have to own it.

Where to find the J Balvin event in Fortnite

If you want to watch the event, as we’ve already noted, it’ll happen inside Party Royale. That’s slightly different to the usual Battle Royale and Creative modes.

To access it, you’ll want to select the Party Royale game mode in the lobby screen and then search when the event goes live in the menus. Be sure to get in early for the live showing as you don’t want to miss out!

  1. Load up Fortnite
  2. Enter the Battle Royale lobby screen but change the playlist to Party Royale
  3. Search for a game and wait
  4. Once inside, head over to the Main Stage area on the east of the island and enjoy!

The Main Stage is where you’ll be able to find the Fortnite music events.

Obviously, you won’t be able to drop in and watch the show until the date and time that Epic has revealed, so don’t try and get involved too early.

If you manage to get in, though, make sure to enjoy it and get involved with the party.
