Epic Games boss drops major clue for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 theme

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is just days away as this chapter’s first season eventually draws to a close.
Epic and various leakers have widely teased a theme centering around Greek mythology for next season is coming. However, aside from an in-game event and what skins we can expect to see in the Battle Pass, all the major details are still unknown.
Now, Mark Rein, co-founder of Epic Games, has given his ‘word’ that sums up Chapter 5 Season 2, which gives an enormous hint for what to expect with next season’s theme.
Epic Games boss reveals his word for next Fortnite season’s theme
Mark Rein was asked via Twitter/X: “If you had one word to describe next season, what would it be?”
To which the co-founder responded, “My word for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is: Wings.” With the theme already being rumored to center around Greek Mythology, it has led to many players racking their brains on what this could mean and how the two could link.
Various players threw around suggestions. The most popular was the idea that different mythological creatures and gods could feature. These included: “Pegasus,” griffins,” “Icarus” “Hermes,” “Iris,” “dragon,” and many more.
This was further backed up by the popular creator and leaker HYPEX. They posted an image of a Griffin in response to their reported leak from September 2022, which revealed that Epic was working on “rideable flying animals.”
The original leak further stated that players would “be able to Boost & Idle” and “most likely” use a Saddle item on them. Whether or not this is what is coming remains unknown, but it would certainly shake up the Battle Royale Island.
It’s not the first time that Mark Rein has provided his ‘word’ for an upcoming Fortnite season, whereby he gave the word “Rewind,” just before the record-breaking Season OG dropped and sent players right back to the first season.
While Epic has not released Chapter 5 Season 2’s official trailer or announced the theme, we will be sure to update you on any more leaks or official announcements.
