Amazon has signed influencer Josh Richards to a first-look deal.

Josh Richards, who first rose to fame on TikTok as for his comedy and lip-syncing videos, is set to bring his talents to Amazon.

As Amazon begins to branch out from merely being a commerce website, it brings in new properties to its streaming and gaming arms. From NFL broadcasts to original movies to the upcoming Lord of the Rings television show, Amazon is swinging big when it comes to adding content.

Now, it appears that Amazon has reached an agreement with one of TikTok’s biggest stars.

According to a new report by Variety, Amazon has inked Richards to a a first-look deal. This arrangement will allow Richards to create and produce video content for Amazon exclusively.

The deal will also see Richards serve as Amazon’s brand ambassador, for which he will develop custom social media content for Amazon projects “including the NFL’s ‘Thursday Night Football'” the rights to which Amazon recently purchased.

CrossCheck Studios, the production company that Richards founded and is currently CEO of, will also be collaborating with Amazon as part of this deal.

Richards has been expanding beyond TikTok content in recent years, dabbling in film acting. He starred in the short film Brother’s Keeper, as well as the musical comedy Summertime Dropouts.

In addition to acting, Richards has also tried his hand at singing. His song “Still Softish,” which featured fellow TikTok star Bryce Hall, has over 100 million streams.

Upon announcing the deal, Richards said he and Amazon “will continue to push the boundaries surrounding the creator economy and content creation.”

This deal with Amazon will not only help the streaming service expand its reach to a younger, more social-media savvy demographic, it will also give Richards a chance to expand further into new media. Financial terms of the deal are not yet known.
