With the franchised Call of Duty League teams, though some players have already been announced and branding starting to be leaked.
It appears, though, that the Call of Duty League itself has accidentally let slip some of the team names, thanks to some details found in the website’s coding, as spotted by multiple users on social media after the website launched.
It didn’t take long for the names to start coming out, and it seems as if they’ve all but confirmed at least four of the franchise names that have been held so tightly under wraps.
A simple search on the website’s coding brings us to names for the franchises, some with the city they represent and some without. Though a couple of these names had already been theorized by Twitter users, this is the first time any suggestions have come up pointing towards the Chicago and Seattle locations, which are bound to create a lot of fanfare.
Another Twitter user then found what appears to be all of the team names but without their associated cities – though some conclusions can be drawn.
Though nothing is final, the leaked team names are as follows:
- Seattle Surge
- Chicago Huntsman
- FaZe Atlanta
- Minnesota Rokkr
- Dallas Empire
- Los Angeles Guerrillas
- Paris Legion
- London Royal Ravens
- Los Angeles OpTic
- Florida Mutineers
- New York Subliners
- Toronto Ultra
Some fans even went as far as to find the exact colors the teams will be playing in when the CDL rolls around.
Whether these names are definitely the final product remains to be seen, but it certainly seems to be that way. With most teams expected to announce their official branding soon, fans may not have to wait long to see whether these names are final.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25, with the Call of Duty League expected to kick off in early 2020.
