The launch trailer for Apex Legends Season 4 gave a closer look at Revenant while teasing what could be the next character in the battle royale – Rosie, also known as Loba.

Respawn Entertainment loves embedding deep and rich lore into every facet of their popular shooter. From the maps, Legends, weapons, and more, everything has its place in the larger scheme of the Apex Games.

Though leaks have given players a look into a host of possible characters to come, the January 30 launch trailer for the new season offered more clues about a long-rumored Legend that could finally be on her way to the Outlands.

In the final moments of Respawn’s new cinematic, players are left with a lasting image of a young girl kneeling in a pool of blood left by the lifeless body of her father.

Since we know his assassin, Revenant, is coming into the Apex Games in Season 4, the young girl might not trail far behind the murderous Simulacrum.

New clues suggest the young girl could indeed be Rosie, and will soon enter the Apex Games, possibly under the moniker of Loba, we’re not sure yet what her official name will be.

Rosie/Loba’s origin story begins like many others, with her path to the Apex Games fueled by death and revenge.

Before Revenant accepted his target, we get a full view of the little girl’s father, Marcos Andrade. The target dossier on him revealed he and his wife were expert thieves who also speak Portuguese.

Later on, when the assassination takes place, one of his last living acts was to give her a small statue of a silver wolf, which can be translated to the feminine noun ‘loba’ in Portuguese, the language that the family can be heard speaking.

We now have our first major connection between the girl and the unreleased Legend. Seeing as how the name Loba has been heavily connected with the character, the fact that Respawn chose to include a wolf figurine in the trailer could serve as major foreshadowing

Possibly Rosie’s inspiration for her future name as Loba in Apex Legends.

Moreover, if the young girl is Rosie, she would have quite literally been raised by thieves, since we know her parents used to run a “Bonnie-and-Clyde operation” on Talos.

This is crucial for understanding her supposed set of abilities, leaked by prominent Apex dataminer ‘That1MingingGuy,’ that was tied to Rosie/Loba which include “Burglar’s Best Friend,” “Supply for Demand,” “Black Market Boutique,” and “Eye for Quality,” all of which are thievery-themed.

While her development could easily see these abilities changed upon release, it seems Respawn planned this character to have close ties with a thieving underworld that we know is well-established given the background of her mother and father.

The abilities leaked that were linked to unannounced Legend called “Loba.”

Finally, Respawn’s Twitter post on January 29 said that the Season 4 trailer would connect the “recent break-ins at Hammond Robotics facilities and murder of James ‘The Forge’ McCormick with a 25-year unsolved cold case.”

If the murder of Andrade and his wife is the “unsolved cold case” in question, that would put the young daughter in her early 30’s at the present day – a fitting age to be a contestant in the famed bloodsport of the Outlands.

While the next new Legend introduced in the battle royale will be Revenant, there’s enough reason to believe that Rosie, or Loba, could be in line to be released in Season 5.

Apex Legends clamps down on teamers ruining ranked play

Respawn Entertainment have banned top-ranked Apex Legends players on Xbox who were found ‘teaming’ in the competitive playlist, extending the devs’ hard-line approach to cheaters.

Teamers have been prevalent in Apex since the game’s launch. While the war against cheaters has been ongoing, Respawn have shown they’re not afraid to swing the ban hammer once reports start to get out of hand.

For the people who have poured hundreds of hours into the battle royale to reach some of the highest echelons of the Rank ladder, the devs won’t think twice about banning you if you’re caught obstructing Apex’s competitive integrity.

Respawn security team member Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford has been slamming cheaters of all types with hardware bans, among others, and let over a dozen players know they had their last day on their respective Apex accounts.

Teamers in Apex Legends have been a problem since before Season 1.

“To the 14 Xbox players who were teaming in high-level Ranked, I hope your time off is more fulfilling and well spent than what you were doing in Apex lol,” Hideouts said.

For those unaware, teaming is the simple act of coordinating with people outside of your squad. While there isn’t any third-party software or extra application in use that cheat detection would pick up, it’s still highly against the framework of a battle royale.

People have teamed since the start of the game to complete challenges, unlock prestigious rewards, and secure incredibly easy wins to add to their record.

If there was ever a doubt that teaming with your friends would result in a ban, Hideouts and co. spare no bans if they get a report with evidence to the infraction.

As Season 7 ramps up through its holiday festivities, Respawn have been really keen on cleaning up the game from every kind of cheater under the sun.

Whether you’re trying to be slick and get away with some light cheating or broadcasting your errant ways on Twitch, the Apex devs have a pretty solid record of tracking down people violating the rules.

As long as Apex Legends has cheaters, the devs will continue to be active in community threads and direct Cheater Report channels to sift out the bad actors.
