As Season 3 of Apex Legends enters its final few weeks, Respawn are going out with a bang, adding many highly requested modes and lots of new content for the Grand Soirée Arcade event.

While past events have typically just added one new mode, such as the Shadowfall LTM in the Fight or Fright event, this time around they will be adding a total of seven new modes.

Of course, this would be far too many to have at once, so each mode will be available for two days, before they are rotated out for the next one. There will also be event-exclusive challenges, which will grant players Arcade points to earn rewards.

This event is all about Pathfinder too, who gets his own suave skin, but every Legend in the game is also getting some new fresh new outfits. Check out all the skins we know of so far here.

When is the Grand Soirée Arcade event update?

The patch will go live on PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 14, and ends on January 28. Typically, these updates go live at 10AM PT / 1pm ET / 6PM GMT, but sometimes delays can occur on certain platforms.

In addition to the new content and the event itself, Respawn are also making some much-needed improvements and bug fixes.

There’s a lot to work through ahead of the launch of Season 4, but the developers have already confirmed a number of fixes that are on the way.

There’s also an overhaul to the challenge system, with the new ‘prize track’ system instead. Each of the seven LTMs will have three challenges, worth a total of 1000 Arcade points. Respawn explain that they’ve “tuned the system so that you don’t need to be there every day.”

  • Fix for cases we saw where players would receive a client error when fighting Wattson.

  • Fixed issue with Octane’s “Laughing Fool” skin blocking player vision when using the 1x Holo Sight.

  • Fixed bug where Wraith could take damage from Thermite ordnance while using her Tactical or Ultimate abilities.

  • Fixed visual bug for when Crypto first drops into game, the Drone UI reports that it is “recharging” (as if it has been destroyed pre-drop), but progress does not complete / progress.

  • Fix for Wattson’s Ultimate to prevent being able to deploy an Interceptor Pylon through walls.

  • Passive: Gibraltar revives squadmates faster while inside the Dome Shield.

  • Removed the bonus move speed Into the Void and Dimensional Rift at the same time. Wraith will now move at their combined movement speed when they are both activated.

  • Increased cooldown for Into the Void: 25 seconds -> 35 seconds.

  • Drone and EMP improvements.

  • Surveillance Drone increased the health 1 -> 30.

  • EMP no longer affects friendly traps/deployables.

  • EMP no longer slows friendlies.

  • Extended Energy Mags removed

  • HAVOC mag size: 32

  • Devotion mag size: 44

Designer notes: We know that the removal of energy mags seems a bit odd, but it will make much more sense with the release of Season 4! It takes a while to make the bigger changes you see in the new season updates, and we generally make sure to filter out these changes from preceding mid-season updates. This time we made a mistake and shipped a change that wasn’t intended to go live until Season 4.

This feature is limited to approved partners and allows them to arrange private player matches, record live footage via game client spectators, and view match results. Our goal here is to provide great tools for tournament organizers for setting up teams and matches at events and a better spectating experience for fans.

With the recent arrival of Season 7, Apex Legends fans are jumping into Olympus with all of their favorite Legends. One voice actor of the non-binary Bloodhound recently shared what they sound like prior to vocal edits.

Arriving alongside the launch of Apex Legends back in 2019, Bloodhound was one of the first Legends available for players to utilize in matches. Billed as a legendary hunter, this Technological Tracker is the first non-binary character in the hit battle royale.

As the Apex seasons have progressed, the character has become increasingly powerful and seen their popularity grown.

So, in a peek behind the scenes, the voice actor behind Bloodhound has revealed how they sound before Respawn adds a few tweaks to make it sound as it does now.

The voice behind the mask

In a recent post to their TikTok account, voice actor Allegra Clark shared a clip of what the voice lines she records sound like prior to editing.

Stating that “what I do is only part of the vocal performance,” Clark details that a cool gas-mask vocal effect also pitches down her voice about two steps.

While the direction Allegra was originally given was that of an “androgynous, badass place,” she then goes on to share what Bloodhound’s iconic voice sounds like pre-editing. With a stark contrast to her regular voice, Clark’s vocal modulation and Icelandic/Old Norse accent instantly show off that recognizable cadence they have with their iconic lines.

The fans react

Shared on Reddit by IIIlandist, fans have been reacting to the non-binary character’s lines being heard without the filter.

One commenter stated: “when she said Mozambique here I felt that,” with another adding, “when she said Mozambique here I died.” Fans of the character were excited to hear how their vocal performance came about and seeing the effort of production that goes into creating the Legend.

It’s incredibly interesting seeing behind the scenes information regarding voice work and the like. This clip shared by Clark is no exception.
