True Detective Night Country Episode 5 debuting early due to Super Bowl
HBOThanks to Sunday’s Super Bowl, fans of True Detective Night Country will get to watch Episode 5 early this week.
True Detective Season 4 – aka True Detective Night Country – is nearing its conclusion, with this series just six episodes long, rather than the usual eight. You can check out our spoiler-free review of the entire season here.
But Super Bowl Sunday has thrown a spanner in the works, with the Kansas City Chiefs playing the San Francisco 49ers at much the same time that Jodie Foster would be busy true detecting.
So HBO is doing a kindness to viewers, making the penultimate episode available two days early. Full details are below…
True Detective Night Country Episode 5 debuting early due to Super Bowl
Episode 5 of True Detective Night Country will be available to stream early on Max this Friday, February 9. Fans will be able to watch from 9pm ET/6pm PT. There’s no word yet if the episode will be made available early outside the US.
Episode 5 will still receive its linear premiere on HBO on Sunday – February 11 – at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Here are all the US air dates:

- Part 2: January 21, 2024
- Part 3: January 28, 2024
- Part 4: February 4, 2024
- Part 5: February 11, 2024
- Part 6: February 18, 2024
