League of Legends patch 14.5 notes: Seraphine changes, Rek’Sai buffs and more

Patch 14.5 for League of Legends brings about a heap of new changes to the MOBA, including major changes to Piltovian Popstar Seraphine and buffs to Rek’Sai.

The next patch for League of Legends is turning the corner, and with it major changes to the massively popular MOBA. Patch 14.5 will bring a fair amount of changes to the game, including an update to Seraphine that shifts how she scales.

The patch will also feature buffs to Rek’Sai, reverting some of what Riot did in the previous patch.

When does League Patch 14.5 go live?

League of Legends Patch 14.5 is expected to go live on March 6, 2024, according to Riot’s patch schedule. Patch 14.5 will head to Oceanic servers first, with other servers slowly receiving it throughout the day.

Here are the key timings of Patch 14.5 for your server:

  • 3 AM PT (NA)
  • 5 AM GMT (EUW)
  • 3 AM CET (EUNE)
  • 8 AM KST (Korea)

There’ll be a few hours of downtime when patching begins, and matchmaking queues will be taken offline about three hours beforehand.

What’s changing in LoL Patch 14.5?

Seraphine Changes

Piltovian Popstar Seraphine has always been a bit of an enigma since her release. Slated as a mid-laner originally, the champion saw mild success in the role, with many players trying her as a support. Eventually, Seraphine ended up being one of the strongest bot laners in the game, prompting Riot to change the character once more in Patch 14.5.

Rek’Sai Buffs

Rek’Sai has had a bit of a tough time after her mini-rework in Patch 14.4. With increased mobility and CC, the champion took a heavy hit to their damage numbers, which has resulted in her being far less lethal and effective than before. Alongside a couple of nasty bugs, Rek’Sai is in a bad spot. Therefore Riot is looking to buff the character with faster auto attacks and more.

Passive: Death in Lavender

  • Bugfix: Fixed a bug that caused Bel’Veth to get three stacks for each Epic Void monster. She now properly gets two Death in Lavender stacks per Void Grub (for a total of six if she gets all three of them) and two for Rift Herald

  • Basic Attack Cast Frame: 12 ⇒ 10 (Note: This means attacks deal their damage about 20% earlier in the animation.)
  • Critical Strike Cast Frame: 9 ⇒ 10

Q: Queen’s Wrath

  • QoL Change: Attacks can no longer be canceled mid-attack, now matches most other empowered attacks
  • Cast Frame: 12 ⇒ 9 (Note: This means the attack strikes the target about 33% earlier in the animation.)
  • Bugfix: Attacks now stack Spear of Shojin when hitting only one champion

W: Burrow/ Unburrow

  • [NEW] An Uplifting Change: Unburrow will now knock up all Large Monsters in range if they’re eligible
  • [NEW] An Non-Lifting Uplifting Change: Unburrow can now damage (but not knock up) targets who were recently knocked up and immune to Unburrow
  • Bugfix: Fixed a bug where Rek’Sai could stop auto-attacking after burrowing and quickly unburrowing

E: Tunnel/ Furious Bite

  • Bugfix In Progress: Reduced the frequency of a bug that caused Rek’Sai to occasionally fail to dash when crossing walls. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more instances of this bug occurring and work to resolve them as we’re able to.
  • 100 Fury Bonus Damage: 6/8/10/12/14% of target’s maximum health ⇒ 8/9.5/11/12.5/14% of target’s maximum health
  • Monster Bonus Damage Cap: 60-400 (based on level) ⇒ 75-400 (based on level)

R: Void Rush
